I assume we were the first rental of the season. The view. The view does all the heavy lifting. You simply cannot be disappointed with such a breathtaking view. "Wasn’t able to get into the reception area and didn’t have clear instructions to check in. Had to go into town and get help from a local coffee shop, who called the hotel owner to get us in. Coffee shop staff was super helpful and had great food so that helped get over the hassle of check in. Overall, the place was quiet, in a great location, and had what we needed."

"We stayed in one of the small houses for two nights in April 2026. We had two beautiful days/nights. The radiant floors were a standout. The house faces west, which huge picture windows to the west and north. During the first night, we happened to catch a quick showing of northern lights. On the first morning, we spent several hours with the provided binoculars watching a minke whale and a few dolphins. Needless to say, we were super excited. Checkin was super easy as was checkout. There's a small two-burner stove top and mini fridge for anyone who wishes to prepare meals. The hosts provide a selection of CDs, books, and games. The wifi was super strong, which helped us with remote work and streaming a movie. Silence and relaxation were the real deal here. We had no problems ascending/descending the stairs to the bedroom, especially with the provided railings. If you stay three or more nights, self-service laundry is available, which is a great feature. There's a few cool things to do in Akureyri, and it's not a far drive into the city. We highly recommend staying at this property."

"We had a wonderful stay at this property. It has fantastic views over the fjord which can be enjoyed from multiple rooms and also the hot tub outside. It was well equipped with spacious clean rooms. Excellent communication from the host and detailed instructions for use of property / ideas for trips in the local area. Highly recommended."

"Amazingly gorgeous property, location, and view! This is, hands down, the best VRBO experience that we have had, and we use VRBO frequently. The owners were highly accommodating to needed changes to our trip schedule. The view is serene and awe-inspiring, the house beautifully appointed, travel is easy to Akureyri, and there are precious touches like the enclosed, mineral water fed hot tub. If there were 6 stars to give, this property well deserves it!"
