Introducing the Modern Retro Ranch: a sprawling 3,600 sq ft single-level retreat, custom-built in 1965. Revel in its bright, funky, modern style with a retro twist. Nestled on 20 private acres surrounded by hundreds of acres of farmland, this secluded haven offers oversized living areas, a bold, colorful interior, and complete privacy.
Enjoy the outdoor deck, hot tub, and fire pit with a cozy seating area right off the kitchen. In the evenings, the silence is profound, perfect for unwinding under the stars.
Ideal for families, retreats, and anyone seeking a peaceful escape.

RULES:
THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE! No underage groups, proms, drinking parties, keg parties, etc.
DOGS: Pre-approval is required. Low shedding breeds only due to allergies.

**PLEASE NOTE:
This is the country and you can expect to see many animals, birds, snakes and insects (including ticks) that are all part of the ecosystem. Black Bears live locally although we have not seen them on the property yet. There are Eagles and hawks in the area so keep small dogs close to you at all times. When hiking through wooded areas or grass we recommend using Off spray or another known brand on your shoes and legs.
During the summer you might hear distant music from the summer camp a mile up the road but it is not bothersome.

-LANDER'S RIVER TRIPS: Raft, kayak, kanoe or tube down the Delaware River. Multiple launch sites. Affordable fun for groups. About 22 minute drive.

-HOLIDAY MOUNTAIN SKI and FUN: Summer: arcades, go-karts, batting cages, rock climbing wall, mechanical bull, bungee trampoline and more. Winter: snow tubing, 6 skiing trails (green, blue and black), great beginner's lessons. 25 minute drive

-HORSEBACK RIDING: Hourly trail rides at Rolling Stone Ranch in Bethel 282 West Shore Road.

-LIBERTY HEIGHTS TRAMPOLINE and ADVENTURE PARK:
Indoor trampoline, arcades, virtual reality and more. 20 minute drive.

-CATSKILL DISTILLING COMPANY at the DANCING CAT SALOON: Distillery and bar. Outdoor seating, sculptures, food, occasional live music. Great rye and whisky. Call first to schedule a tour of the distillery. 10 minute drive.

-RESORTS WORLD CASINO: Slots, poker, table games and more. 27 minute drive.

-LAKE SUPERIOR PARK: 1,410-acre state park located on a small lake called Lake Superior. Has a sandy beach with a boat launch. Great for swimming, picnicking, fishing and taking in the nature views.

WALNUT MOUNTAIN PARK: 14 minute drive, FOREST RESERVE at SMALLWOOD 14 minute drive, TUSTEN MOUNTAIN TRAIL 25 minute drive, NEVERSINK GORGE TRAILS 30 minute drive.

-BOAT RENTALS:
STARLIGHT ARENA: Rent speedboats, pontoon boats and kayaks right on the beautiful Swinging Bridge Reservoir. Rent by the hour or day. 20 minute drive.
GENE'S BOATS and PAYNES WATER SPORTS are on White Lake 10 minutes away. Online reviews are mixed so you might want to read them first or drive a little further to STARLIGHT MARINA or SWINGING BRIDGE MARINA

-RESTAURANTS:
Sticky Fingers Delectables. Sorella Pizzeria. Santorini Mixed Grill. Benji and Jake Pizza. The Local Table and Tap. All of these restaurants are 7 minutes away in Kauneonga Lake.

-Dunkin: There's a Dunkin in White Lake 10 minutes away.

Kauneonga Lake Market (opened on Saturday) 8 minute drive.

11 of us guys in our 40s met for a college reunion. Thank you thank you thank you Leah for a marvelous house! The description and photos were accurate. No issues with any indoor or outdoor amenities. Plenty of yard space for lawn games. Loved the Mortal Kombat arcade machine & indoor basketball hoop. We pulled out the trundle bed mattresses so 6 of us could comfortably sleep in the bunkbed room. K-cup coffee machine was excellent. Lots of kitchen supplies to help. Door lock process was smooth. And through it all Leah was so wonderful with communicating. Thank you!

This was our fourth or fifth stay at this house over the last few years, and it was excellent again. The manager is very responsive and makes sure you have everything you need. The house itself is comfortable and very well equipped. I’m sure our family will return here again.

Our family had the most amazing time at this wonderful expansive and beautifully decorated home. There were so many exciting games to keep them all busy all morning and evening. Leah was always available for any questions. She keeps adding more to the details of the home. It was so well stocked with linen, bedding and towels and was super clean, cozy and decorated in the most vacation beautiful way. The yard is beautiful too, both front and back and we enjoyed seeing deer around the neighborhood every evening. We'd love to come back again!

The Best

We had so much fun at this spot. It is so hard to find a place to fit a family of 6 and this sport was perfect, actually it’s even too big for us but after being cramped in hotel rooms this was luxury! The interior is retro 70s, totally fitting with the Bethel Woods/Woodstock theme. We saw countless deer every day. A groundhog, skunk bunnies. Only the skunk didn’t want to be friends… lol It is a 10 min drive to Bethel Woods, close enough to hear the music but far enough away to feel like you are in blissful woodland solitude. The whole house is spacious. There are 4 bedrooms as described. The 4th room has 4 twin beds (2 sets of bunk beds) and 2 trundle beds. The third room has a queen & a single (if I remember correctly) and the first two rooms each have a queen bed with one of those having a small day bed. Easily could handle 3 families. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make meals (except groceries of course), even a ton of spices. The laundry facilities were so helpful. The porch/game room is relaxing. The living room is like a theatre with multiple couches and ample seating. The island seats at least 6. The dining room has a long table with many chairs I did not count. Two picnic tables outside. We didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub unfortunately. A lovely lawn area in the front. Leah was very quick to respond, very friendly. I can’t say enough great things. We can’t wait to plan to go back with friends.

Girls’ Getaway

My friends and I are lawyers and we needed a fun getaway so we could relax and have fun. This house was the perfect spot. It’s clean, beautifully designed and has plenty of room. The hot tub and fire pit were a great bonus. We will be back!

50th Birthday Gathering

This house was perfect for our group, there to celebrate a 50th birthday with friends and family. Close to Bethel Woods for an easy trek to a concert, and the next day to visit the Woodstock museum. The open kitchen/island and the large dining table were perfect for family style meals and games. The area is beautiful, and walking down the road brought amazing views! The fire pit was a great space to gather and stay warm. Just an awesome stay, and Leah was an excellent host!

What a house!

This house is amazing! It is a perfect blend of modern and mid-century modern. We loved the original pieces that had been saved and used in the renovation. There is more floor space than you could ever use and the views are fantastic!

Awesome Spot for a Friend Getaway

My group of friends and I have been planning weekend long get togethers at random vrbos and other rentals for a couple of years now and this one was a fantastic stay! The space was incredible and we had plenty of room to eat, sleep, and play. The hot tub was also incredible! The weather didn't give us a lot of options in terms of excursions but we took an hour long drive to Walden to check out the Angry Orchard cidery and it was well worth the drive. The property is also super close to the original Woodstock site which was worth the visit! Leah was a very thoughtful and helpful host and we would absolutely come back!

Would absolutely come back

We had a fantastic time at this property. The owner answered all our questions in a very timely fashion and was warm and friendly. The house was spotless and beautifully decorated. Beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub and the beautiful scenery and quiet. There were games for the kids as well. We all enjoyed ourselves from the youngest to the oldest.

I Loved the Stay

The house is Great and the Location is Awesome. Very Quiet & Isolated - nearest resident is half a mile away. Owner is more responsive than my mother. This house has been undergoing an epic renovation by the owner, to save it from the elements. The house is nice and the Mitsubishi AC is a winner. Because the rental is expensive, I am going to tell you that the house could be improved as follows: 1. MBR bed is too low to the floor and needs box spring to bring it to a normal height. 2. Kitchen is Great and modern but fridge is way too small for the number of people that the house is slated to have. A second fridge in the basement would be helpful. 3. The windows mostly don't work and one doesn't close. without screens, the numerous flies fly in when opened. 4. The land is beautiful but underutilized. The deck should be ripped out and one that is twice the width built. If you put a long outdoor table, you could actually use the deck to dine and with an awning, the backyard would be the star of the house so long as you cut all of the weeds in the back to the end of the property line, the view would be improved. Recliners would be great as those backyard chairs look cute but have no use.

Beautiful and relaxing property!

The property is gorgeous! We came with a family (with little kids) and a bunch of adults as well and it was awesome for all age groups. One of our friends said "I saw the pictures and thought it can't possibly be that beautiful, but no, it's even prettier in real life!" Down to every last detail. Even the microwave and knives match the decor. 😉 The fresh air is amazing, beautiful quiet area. We brought quite a few activities to do once we got there but the space lends itself to chilling and relaxing around the fire that we didn't end up needing any of the activities we brought. There's a game room, two areas to relax on the couch and chairs near the island. Not to mention Leah is the perfect host! super helpful and responsive! 10/10 would go again

Large Property

The house was very large and in good shape. Kitchen had every pot, pan, and utensil you would ever need to cook. Spacious property was great for outdoor activities in addition to the provided hot tub and grill. Very pleased with my stay.

Celebrate back in time!

Our family got together at the Retro Ranch to celebrate my wife's retirement and the house bacame a major element of the entire weekend. Plenty of room for our 12 adult group to have meals together, hang out on the kitchen or the TV room, or by the fire. You are in a secluded location , yet very easy access to many local attractions that fit a variety of interest. We did like to be back to enjoy the Sunsets! Communication with Leah was excelent and was very responsive to our inquiries. We enjoy places that looks impresive and welcoming at the same time, the Retro Ranch is very much that.

Mid Winter break & birthday

Our second stay at the Retro Ranch (first was a winter break during the pandemic) and, as usual, what a great time. Spacious, stylish and very comfortable, the retro ranch was the perfect three day holiday weekend locale for our daughter’s birthday. Friends & family loved it. Leah is a wonderful host who is super communicative and has a property manager to help if she’s not available. Can’t wait to come back in the summer for a show at Bethel Woods.

Space for days

The space is even larger in person. We greatly appreciated the really bright colors. Definitely a little room for improvement, but for what we needed (Clean space with plenty of room to stretch out) we couldn't have asked for a better space. Property owner was great with communication even though I didn't notice she was checking in with us until much later. I guess that's a sign that their directions and information ahead of time was really good! Definitely plan to rent the space again in the future.

Family gathering in the country

This house was a perfect setting for our family’s get together. It is immaculate, well appointed spacious. The kitchen had all the necessary cookery and utensils. The check-in me check-out were simple and smooth. The manager was very responsive to all inquiries, both before and during our stay. All in all we were very satisfied with the property.
