"I just returned from a lovely stay in a lavish bay suite. When we checked in, it was a little weird because we waited for the valet for a while before going into the garage and self-parking. It turned out that the valet is only there on weekends during the off-season. I prefer to self-park, but it would have been nice if there had been some type of sign to let us know. We also found that the first room we were assigned to had a really annoying sound. Nick from the front desk was wonderful - he...

"Our stay was Sept 28-Oct 1 We had such a pleasant stay here. We were enjoying it so much we would have stayed longer if time allowed. We had an ocean front room and had a great view of the ocean from the balcony; we could sit and listen to the waves, watch the activities of beach life. We got to see beautiful sunrises, beautiful skies. The room was clean and provided everything we needed to make it a comfortable stay. No complaints. The staff at the front desk were courteous and...

"I'm not sure why the property gets only 3.8 rating. I was pleasantly surprised by the way the room looked. Yes the building is old but it has been updated. If you want a nit pic the drains were slow, the door was drafty and the pillows were lumpy and hard."

"Great property"

"Considering we booked on a Tuesday for that Friday,.. the room received was excellent. The staff is friendly and courteous.. an easy walk to the beach. The pool was nice. I would definitely go back."

"Booked via Expedia. In the notes were details of service dog. Got refused by the property at check-in for having a service dog."

"Location ocean view rooftop deck."

"As it turned out, my wife and I were unable to stay at the Captain's Cottage due to a severe weather front that was going through that part of New Jersey when we were scheduled to stay there. The weather was so severe that New Jersey was under a State of Emergency at the time and severe flooding was anticipated. Although we were unable to stay there, I wanted to say that the owner Bryan, was very communicative and kind during this critical time. He understood our concern and was very...

"Comfortable and better than we expected for an older motel. Bagels and coffee for breakfast were very good. Staff was excellent."
