What is most attractive though about this property is that is retains so much of the original vibes of a peranakan shophouse. The blend of historical furnishing and modern amenities makes for a nostalgic and yet comfortable stay. The only setback is its location along a narrow road. "I can only give 4 stars because there is no smoke alarm and I was travelling alone so would not wake up and I had to ask for refill of clean towels, water , shower gel on 3rd day . I was hoping my room would get cleaned but didnt. No window in my room. Other then that it's a nice stay for a good price with your own bathroom and nice roof terrace. Some guests came in late screaming around hallway when I'm trying to sleep and bar pumping but no big deal. The owner said he will install smoke alarms...

JL is a genial and affable host. I do expect to return and do not hesitate to recommend this venue to customers in the future. "
