Caistor Hall
5/5 Excellent
"Beautiful setting. It was another very warm day but there are plenty of shady spots on the terrace where you can sit with a cool drink and enjoy the very spacious gardens. It’s a small hotel which gives it its own intimate vibe.
The rooms are nicely decorated. We had a standard room which had a four poster bed. It’s an old building so the floor was a little uneven. Not a problem once you realise you don’t have vertigo! The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was lovely with a very comfortable mattress and lovely fluffy pillows. It was a very hot day and the fan in the room didn’t really move the air much, be we came prepared with our own so we were able to be comfortable.
We dined in Mark Poynton’s newly awarded Michelin Star restaurant. The food and flight of wines were divine and the staff were very knowledgeable, attentive but not intrusive. They worked hard but very clearly enjoying themselves. "
