We liked the lovely garden and the charm of the cottage. The bed was very comfortable and we really enjoyed having an english style breakfast to cook each morning. Great place to stay to explore the area and easy walking distance to town.

The extensive detail to even the beautiful wallpaper. The hospitality was second to none. A very comfortable, safe place to stay and the star besided Heather & Graham was 'Jake' who was just adorable to cuddle. Never been in a place like this before.

It had lots of character, very convenient to CBD and generally quiet, there did seem to be quite a bit of heavy truck movement on the road running parallel with the property.

Pleasant Stay

The gas works are perfectly located for a trip to Strathalbyn, short walk to the centre of town and all the antique shops. The rooms were very clean, quaint and cosy with good coffee and great choice of teas. A self cooked breakfast was included which was appreciated. We visited in winter and unfortunately the one heater for the two rooms was very ineffective and we spent a cool night huddled under blankets on the sofa. The cost was on the high side for us compared to other places we stayed on this trip but all in all it was a pleasant stay. Had a great curry from the Indian restaurant Mystik down the road.

A great little hideaway

A lovely place to stop and have a break - great place and surrounding areas wonderful to explore. one thing we will comment on thou trivial is a small fry pan in the kitchen / found the bathroom lovely though a bit concerning about the combo bath and shower not very user friendly.and it a bit unsafe especially if guests have any mobility issues. On the whole great place and would recommend .

The gardens were magnificient and a credit to the owners. The accommodation was lovely and of historic significance. Peaceful and I felt I could have contact with the hosts or didn't have to. Breakfast supplies were very convenient.

Nice & relaxing property, hosts were very welcoming & on hand to attend to any issues, we had none. Beautifully maintained garden area is a real feature. All of central Stathalbyn is within easy walking distance.

Absolutely lovely

A terrific stay. Wonderful hosts who went that extra mile to make our stay comfortable including a lovely greeting, a full breakfast we could cook (eggs, juice, bacon) our host even went to the shops to get us bread as he’d forgotten it. Just impeccable hospitality. The cottage was snug and delightfully homey with heathers English interior design. Thoroughly recommend.
