"Friendly staff, good pool, nice view of the sea!"

"We stayed for one night, wish we had booked for a few more! Super-friendly staff, lovely renovated and nicely furnished little hotel with only 9 rooms. We stayed in the honeymoon-suite on the 3rd floor, which had all bathroom facilities on a top-side terrace with sun chairs and a lovely views. Food in the restaurant was okay, but the breakfast was lovely. We both had a lovely massage, maybe a bit pricey for here, but cheap compared to Europe. All in all, very satisfied with our stay. "

"I stayed at Upendo House for a week while in town for a conference. The room was very chic, comfortable for my week in Stone Town, and all the staff were very helpful and accommodating. While Stone Town is small and nothing is very far, Upendo House was very close to everything and easy to navigate to. The rooftop was beautiful with some of the best views I saw while in Stone Town. On my last day I had a deep tissue massage which was excellent and

"After climbing Kilimanjaro, we spent several nights on a round trip in Zanzibar in a group of five. On arrival, we were able to leave the rest of our luggage at the hotel so that we didn't have to lug it around all day. We spent the last two days at the Maru Maru Hotel, which was a very good decision. The hotel is located in the middle of the alleyways of Stonetown, is easily accessible and the perfect starting point for sightseeing tours. We were warmly welcomed and were able to use the...
