A beautiful hotel with clean comfy rooms and. Lovely restaurant. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and they have a shuttle van to pick you up from the Coast to Coast Walk! Highly recommend!

A small continental breakfast is provided in the room, including a pastry, cookies, yogurt, a selection of cereals, apples, juice, and milk. Nothing particularly special, which is why I rated it 9/10 rather than 10/10, but it was included in the very reasonable room rate and, as we are not big breakfast eaters, it suited us perfectly. We really loved this hotel. Our room (The Admiral's Room) was fantastic - nice bathroom - and very clean. Staff were OK, but service was a little slow. Breakfast was good. Grounds were beautiful, although it would have been nice to have a trail to walk in the summer.

One tiny niggle - I suspect that the owner's suite was above my room and footsteps above were clearly audible (early and late only). I would strongly recommend this hotel and will stay there again.
