Secluded Mountain Cabin with Spectacular Views- Hiker's Dream

4WD/AWD REQUIRED!!
This newly constructed cabin is extremely secluded and has unbelievable views of the Shenandoah Valley from the top of Great North Mountain. The cabin features a sprawling deck with 2 porch swings, an outside dining space and a grill. The upstairs of the Cabin has 2 bedrooms with a bathroom off the master as well as an additional full bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking with seating at the island as well has a dining room table. Finished basement features a desk, pull out couch for additional sleeping, full bathroom, and dart board. The game room has a pool table and air hockey table. This cabin is a hikers dream with private access to the Tuscarora Trail and near many amazing hiking spots, including Eagle Rock.
**Please Note: You MUST have an All-Wheel drive or 4-Wheel Drive vehicle regardless of weather conditions. The route to the cabin is very long and steep. We highly recommend that you get there before dark and if you will be arriving late we ask that you let us know so we can prepare accordingly.

INCLEMENT WEATHER. Safety is a huge priority for us and we will be monitoring for icy or snowy conditions. If this occurs, the driveway could potentially be too dangerous to travel. If the driveway is unsafe to travel, we will inform guests as soon as possible and discuss their options.

We will block the months of January until April on VRBO but feel free to reach out if you are interested in booking during these months. Because of weather, we will take it on a case by case basis based on road conditions and the weather forecast.

INSECTS. Since the cabin is in the woods, certain times of year there can be more insects than normal, primarily stink bugs and ladybugs.

The perfect Thanksgiving family venue! This place has amazing views, the backyard is a hiking trail, it has a huge fireplace that we kept going our entire stay, plenty of games, plenty of space for your own fun or relaxation and a huge deck with swings to enjoy the views!! Would highly recommend this to anyone with AWD or 4WD!!

Fantastic stay! Our host was great and there were no issues or hiccups but if there had been I'm sure they would have been resolved quickly. I cant say enough about this place. Clean, high end and just as peaceful as it seems in the pictures. The decks and views are AMAZING!! Highly recommended and we plan to be back there again!

If you need a time off and relax this is the right place just to be by yourself and family. The place is beautiful the details in the house are perfect. They provide you with everything you need. We loved our stay here. I cannot emphasize how gorgeous the views from the cabin are. The drive to the cabin takes a while but the views make it completely worth it. The cabin was perfect for our quiet family vacation as it is far from other cabins. The cabin was extremely clean and well appointed. The check in process and directions were clear. Overall this helped us enjoy our vacation. Definitely looking to be back!

Beautiful cabin on a peaceful ridge in the mountains. My husband and I spent the weekend with our friends and had an amazing time. The cabin is decorated very tastefully with a beautiful kitchen. The bathrooms are very nice and I will be copying them in my own bathroom remodel :) There were plenty of fun games at the cabin like corn hole, pool and ski ball. My favorite were the porch swings looking over the mountain. Breathtaking in the morning!!! Will definitely be coming back :)

If you need a place to stay in the Winchester/ Shenandoah Valley area this is a must. All around it is a beautiful place, decorated to perfection and incredibly clean. The cabin is located at the very top of Great North Mnt, with a view to die for. They should hang signs inside that say welcome to West Virginia and Welcome to Virginia. Pretty sure it is situated smack on the state line. Hahahaha!!!!!

This is a beautiful property with amazing views and privacy. The house is very well equipped and the host is very responsive. We saw lots of deer, turkey, grouse, and lots of other birds. The view of storms rolling through we great and even had full view of a double rainbow in the valley. I also hiked over to Eagle Rock and enjoyed the spectacular view from there. The kitchen had most everything needed for cooking, baking, and grilling. If you’re going to cook a lot I would suggest bringing your own knives. I’m pretty picky in this area, so if you like to cook you’ll know what I mean. If you decide to visit Almost Heaven you won’t regret it!

Our drive up to the cabin was adventurous! It was late, dark, rainy and the roads were very windy! At the end of the gravel we saw the cabin amongst the clouds. When we walked inside it was so beautiful! The aesthetics and design were stunning, modern, simplistic and beautiful. In the morning when we woke up we saw the mesmerizing view. It is the most unforgettable view you'll ever see. Our whole stay was perfect! With cooking family meals in the fully equipped kitchen, to playing family games, to watching sunset and sunrise on the huge deck! This cabin is worth the stay! Loved it so much!

The pictures only give you a small glimpse of how amazing and beautiful this property is. The cabin is extremely spacious with high ceilings, kitchen is fully stocked with everything and anything you would need to make any meal, and the overall cleanliness of the property was impeccable. Very well may have been the cleanest VRBO property I've ever stayed at. The drive can be a little daunting at first for those not too experienced with back country, gravel roads but overall is easily doable if you take your time. We will definitely be back for a second stay. The property and views will exceed your expectations.

The place is very peaceful. My husband and i stayed with our adult daughter and her husband. After some confusion with the gate due to 2 different emails being sent, we got onto the property. The view is breathtaking! If you have ambulation issues, there are steep steps to get to the main living area so would not recommend. We had three days of relaxing, talking, reading, puzzles air hockey and games. Star gazing was amazing..saw some shooting stars and rare oportunity to see meteorite which made the news! My daughter and i cooked. I brought a casserole dish. If you need a large saute pan, bring your own..we had not thought of it as well as a strainer. There are alot of cooking pots and pans however. Beds were comfortsble enough. Bathrooms are beautiful. We did not use downstairs at all. Did not see any bear although we were looking. We all left very rested and happy with great family memories!
