"Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. Pub staff also, and kindly gave my father no less than 5 different tasters of beers so he could decide what to drink! Lovely quirky interior - looks small from the outside but had lots of different small dining areas inside. Only tiny drawback was the very steep hill up from the rooms furthest away from reception. I hadn't seen it flagged on anything but that may have been because I used a third party site to book online"

"From the moment we arrived Carol made us feel welcomed. She showed us to our room and explained meals times. She made us feel so at home. The room was cosy and decorated in the style of the coaching inn. Dark furnishings and a king sized bed. Lots of drawers to store clothes and a good sized wardrobe too. Lovely modern shower room with hand wash, body wash and shampoo products provided. Ironing board, hair dryer, trouser press and tea and coffee making facilities, tv and bottled water also...

"Very Helpful staff,very quirky room in the roof,lovely touch of the free port in the room and because I was leaving before breakfast they left a small bag of food outside my door,Only small niggle I could see for some was no TV,didn’t bother me and also I kept banging my head when getting out of bed and the bath which was in the same room as the bed,I would definitely stay there again but maybe next time see if they have a normal room 😃"

"Welcoming pub, just stand between the beams if you're 6ft+ tall. Be aware breakfast only starts at 0830 which is too late for most working people but they made me a sandwich to take with me instead so that was appreciated."

"Really lovely stay in this quiet little Oast House. We stayed in a round room, beautifully decorated with ensuite shower room. Tea and coffee and biscuits, TV in room. Plenty of drawers and cupboard space for clothes. Room clean and tidy. Breakfast was lovely, and everyone was so friendly. We also had an excellent roast dinner on the Sunday. Just a short walk into Rye, which was a bonus. Would totally recommend it, and we hope to stay there again. "

"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely old inn. The ensuite bathroom was amazing for such an old place. Very modern, very clean with a good-sized and fully powered shower and a nice area set aside with a make-up mirror. The landlord was very friendly. A good location for walking in the countryside or visiting the many nearby homes and gardens. We'll stay there again."

"Lovely room and location and the staff were all brilliant. Only downside was that our room was directly over the bar so was quite noisy from that and we could hear very loud talking from neighbouring room until gone midnight each night…just unlucky with who was in next room I guess. Not hotels fault, but if you want early night then maybe a different room further from the bar would be better. "

"Fab one night stay in the love nest room . Our dog was made super welcome with a dog bed blanket and even a letter . Room was gorgeous pub and restaurant lovely staff really helpful and friendly "
