Aesthetic of it was nice though. I also loved the options of different activities for adults and family. "

"Great location in Orange County Va farm land very close to many attractions and with in reach to Charlottesville for a day trip via country road route 20 ( no traffic lights). The cottage is an outbuilding on the Bloomingdale Farm property that is surround by working farms. The view from the porch is peaceful and relaxing with the Blue Ridge off in the distance. The cottage is rustic with old wide plank pine floors that creek with every step. The first floor sitting room has a large working wood...

"Easy check in and check out process. If you like the country and mountains this is the place. Conveniently located down the street from the gas station a small store/ restaurant and not a far drive from the Shenandoah National Park. The reason we chose this place is because it is dog friendly and near the Shenandoah mountains. We visited the mountains for some day hikes. The house is nicely kept and spacious with a big yard."

"We had a wonderful time with family and friends at this property. This home was spotless and was equipped with all necessities. The kids had plenty of activities to keep them occupied (arcade games, fuseball table, basketball, ect..). Everyone also enjoyed the hotub. We also spent some time at the waterpark which was a short distance from this property. Overall, a great weekend getaway and we highly recommend this property and apprectiate the opportunity to spend time in this home :)"

"The house was great for UVA graduation weekend for our family. The first floor bedroom/bathroom was nice for my 78 year old mother so she did not have to go up the stairs. We could not get the upstairs shower to turn on so we used the downstairs shower. We could not get any ice to come out of the ice maker and there were no ice cube trays so we bought a bag of ice. Other than these two small issues, the house was perfect for our stay."

"As always the cabin was clean, comfortable and welcoming. Secluded and the only noise heard was the song birds. The hot tub was perfect and the fire pit was great when it was too rainy for the hot tub. See you again in the fall."

"Very clean updated place for a family gathering. Kitchen was extra great with all you need to cook up some dinners. Plenty of beds and baths to give everyone some privacy. The wrap around porch was awesome with nice sturdy chairs for everyone It was also great for the kids to run and play and view the woods and deer. All over outstanding place!!!"

"Bill and Cynthia are such amazing hosts and the property inside and out exemplifies it. What a great place to stay for some serious rural R&R! The property was very clean. They have thought of everything one would need for a delightful get away. If you forgot anything, just ask and they are sure to help one way or another. The Fresh eggs, courtesy of their chickens, were a treat and the farm animals are such fun…esp Posy, Zoey and Hemingway. We hope to return soon for a longer retreat! Thank you...

"We loved staying in this beautiful house! The layout is perfect for entertaining. We had a great time eating, playing pool, playing cards, and just celebrating our son's graduation from JMU. We also had fun participating in the activities at the resort...go-karts, bumper cars, the zip-line, mini golf, fishing at the lakes, and the scenic chair lift! There was something for everyone!"

"The house is in a perfect location to visit the main attractions. Even the house is old, the kitchen and bathrooms were remodeled and the upper house was very clean. The house has a ping pong table in the basement but we didn't use it because the basement was very dirty."

"My fiancé and I stayed at the house for one night during a trip to Shenandoah, and the location was very convenient and close to the park. We chose this rental because of the stream running by, and we loved having a fire down by the water. Overall the rental was exactly what we were looking for - cute, cozy, and a nice escape! Our one complaint is that the shower had a strong sulfur smell when running the hot water."

"We had a great time staying at the Squirrel’s Nest. The location is secluded but still only 15 minutes away from Shenandoah. The cabin was warm & cozy and a perfect escape from everyday life. Hot tub was a plus!"
