"Les Alouettes was as described. A great chalet for two families of four with extra 2 beds on a mezzanine. It was a shortish walk to a button/T-bar lift/bus to gondola - we used hire car to go to car park nearer lifts as too far for children in ski-boots. Not many food shopping outlets so worth getting a shop delivered (very efficient Coop service). The chalet was really comfortable with very good facilities for cooking (we didn't eat out at all). "We celebrated a big birthday with a family get together; we were 17 people, all ages and ALL enjoyed their stay. The property was perfect; The rooms were great and very clean. it had everything we needed. Marco (host) went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. "Die Lage des Chalets ist hervorragend: ruhig, tolle Sicht, Nähe zur Seilbahn und zum Loslaufen. Man kann auf zwei Ebenen (Balkon und Veranda) draußen sitzen und genießen! Die gesamte Ausstattung des Chalets ist jedoch etwas bescheiden, allerdings ist dies auch dem wenigen Platz geschuldet. Es fehlt ein Kleiderschrank, der Fernseher steht etwas unglücklich am Fußende des Bettes, in der Küche wäre eine Kaffeekanne und ein Stopfen für das Spülbecken schön. "There were so many amazing things about this property. First, the hosts, Chris and Fi were so helpful and everything was well communicated. The uphill walk with our luggage was a little tough, but the apartment was beautiful, and the views of the Matterhorn were incredible!"

"Great Bear is a lovely chalet with breathtaking views in a unique environment. I cannot think of a better summer escape, given the stunning surroundings of the Val Hérens, the local cuisine, produce, meat products, and delicious wines. The chalet fits the rustic character of the tiny village perfectly, while affording the necessary comforts for an Alpine stay. Absolutely LOVED IT!!!"

"We came in the summer looking to hike in the area and it was great. We were there only a few day but wish we had a longer stay. Many hiking/biking trails. "This property is great and would have given it 5 stars but it literally requires you 'to hike' to get to the property from the street. Otherwise, it'll cost you a considerable amount of money via the Gornergrat Railway (15 USD every time). This adds up quickly if you decide to visit the town (to eat, shop and etc). Additionally, there is no laundry equipment (washing machine / dryer) available to tenants directly."
