"A lovely historic property with wooded grounds and a 5 minute walk to parklands with lakes and a river, easy access to other attractions. Our room (171) was nice and had everything one would need for a short stay however, the noise and language from the Ramblewood Pub at night was terrible. The room overlooks the rear entrance to the kitchen and again the noise from staff emptying, what I can only assume was empty bottles, in to into the recycling bins night was load with no thought to the guests. Maybe do it during the day."

"Fantastic place to stay, clean and & staff very helpful. Love the idea of messaging reception using WhatsApp and respond very quickly nothing was too much and also the 'skip the room'where can choose to skip cleaning etc amd.give to charity what would cost to sort room out which is fantastic and giving back to local community and charity. Thanks for a great stay 👌"

"The room was wonderful. The bed was huge and very comfortable. I loved having the gym and used it each day. The breakfast was good. The only con was that it was a very long walk to the city center and parking nearby was very expensive (not the hotels fault). I would definitely stay here again."

"The hotel feels like a bit of history, and the room was superb. I had the steak pie for dinner and it was the best I've had. My wife had the steak and said it was superb. The wine was delicious as was the cocktail to finish it all off. The staff were friendly and helpful and we loved the room service. When we needed anything, the staff were always on hand to help. The bar area has inspired us on future designs for our front room! Cracking hotel"
