Upon arrival, we did not notice the flaws, however throughout our stay, they became apparent. The showers did not drain, and one faucet did not turn completely off and the handle was broken. We did see a mouse in the kitchen, and the sofa was very stained. The kitchen was updated. The pictures on the listing did not match the current state - no rug or coffee table and the tv is now in front of the fireplace. The dedicated parking spot was nice. The furnace was extremely loud and had a screen in front of the furnace room but no door.

This was a horrible experience. We were there three days, they came to fix the air on the last day, there were mice, we set traps and caught one, the furniture was dirty and broken. the massive amount of stairs. It was a three-bedroom flop house for college students. one towel per bedroom, not per guest. The beds were like bunk beds in a barracks. The photo is a lie; there is no coffee table and area rug, the lamp has no lamp shade, and the only TV in the house is pushed in front of the fireplace. There are three beat-up dining chairs, two of them broken. The garbage disposal was broken, and someone fixed it on Saturday, along with the air. So two days with no air and all four days with no internet. They are hard to reach, and they dont want to refund any money. This is a partial reflection of VRBO. They should have vetted this property before putting it on their site

This room was absolutely disgusting!!! EVERYTHING was VERY dirty, pubes on shower wall, dust inches thick on bed frames and blinds! Stuff splattered all over moat of the walls! Asked for a refund to be able to go else where and got ghosted! Vrbo couldnt issue a refund said was up to the gost. Host wouldnt respond! Bunch of scammers! Do NOT RENT! Ruined my daughters bday weekend!

The location was great, the kitchen had everything needed. The only complaint we had was the couch was very stained and seemed dirty. We just put sheets to cover it and it was fine. Overall it was a great stay!

Upon arriving it was very easy to find the spots to park out front and the spot provided for the rental. It was conveniently located to the activities we planned and the beds were a great size and clean and showers were hot. Some concerns we had was that the rental did not reflect most of the pictures advertised as posted on the listing. The couch was dirty and full of stains, the remote to the tv did not work and wouldn’t turn on even after trying the instructions sent. The walls in every room and stairwell were soiled with some kind of grease or dripping marks and dirty hand prints, it was cold and the temperature was set at 60 so we turned on the heater to 70. It stayed at 60 all night so we doubled up in clothing because the fan worked and just kept blowing cold air. We woke up early in the am and the thermostat was still at 60 and it was snowing outside, so we messaged the owner and they responded an hour later with some assistance. That didn’t help so a maintenance worker was sent to help make it work. The maintenance help got it working and we set it at 70 to warm for the day and it remained working for the duration of our stay of another evening.

If you’re looking for comfort or quality, this isn’t the place. We only booked due to limited large-group options. The house was dirty and poorly maintained: stained couch, holes in walls, dusty surfaces, thin towels, wobbly furniture, missing chair and broken fixtures. The neighborhood felt unsafe; police and swat team raided a house across the street during our stay. Communication with the host was slow and unhelpful when the door code didn’t work, leaving our group waiting outside for over 30 minutes.

The house was represented well in the pictures. Everything in the house was in working order, plenty of beds if you have a large group of friends or a big family, and there was a lot of things to do within a short distance of the property, would absolutely stay here again. And the host was very nice and descriptive for everything. The check in/check out process was a breeze! The experience was a 10/10

For what it is(the home being an old townhouse) and the area it was in, it was nice I was pleasantly surprised. I love vintage designs and older homes so it didn’t bother me as long as it is clean(which it was) and put together. Host was communicative and accommodating. I had a good trip

Wouldn’t make the cut

This was not a great stay. Although there were a few niceties.. starter coffee and creamer,starter kitchen soaps/dishwasher detergent, the cons outweighed thisThe day of check in I have an email saying I’m not confirmed until I complete an online form. This form ends up requiring me to upload my drivers license! After much discussion with VRBO and the property manager, I had to do this or not have a place for the 15 of us to stay. So be ready for that. Proving who I was in person is very different than uploading my ID to a random website.Not really a problem for us, but know there are 25 steps into the place and about the same up to the main sleeping area.There was a large open hole in the wall in an open closet that was a like unnerving.It says it sleeps 16. That would put two people on couches that were narrow, 2 in all beds and 2 in the bunkbedsThe biggest issue was the AC. We initially put temp to lowest they requested. The temperature was 79 in the space. The coolest it ever got was 77. I reached out several times to property manager in regards to this. It did appear initially to put out cool air, but in two days it never went below 77 degrees. The day we left, we came on a Thursday and left Sat. there was a message from the day before saying they would send someone for the AC . Never saw or heard from anyone in regards to AC. We bought 5 fans to try to make it tolerable. Table with 4 chairs only. Had to request more linens for towel/person, make our own beds

The water in the upstairs shower was scalding and could not be adjusted because of the broken handle. Unless someone was using the downstairs shower simultaneously, the upstairs shower water was too hot for human skin to withstand for more than a few seconds. I contacted them about this problem, and they assured me that they'd have a staff member come fix it the next day, but no one came during the entire time my family was there.

Friday Evening Stay for Bachelorette Party

Upon checking in, there was a continuous beeping coming from the stairwell. After investigating, it was discovered the beeping was coming from the basement behind a locked door. I messaged the host and they stated to attempt to take the alarm off of the wall. After explaining that it was not accessible, I was told that there was no staff onsite to come take care of the issue and that it would be checked on in the morning after checkout. The beeping persisted all night and was audible from the entire first floor of the townhouse. A 10 refund was issued for our trouble. In additional to this issue, the house was dirty and rundown. The couch is filthy and covered in stains. The house is stuffy and hot despite turning down the air conditioning. The shower knob was broken in the upstairs bathroom. The house is close to Soulard, otherwise, I would not recommend staying at this house.

Great weekend for a great price

Very spacious for our party of 6. Beautiful hardwood floors through-out! Cozy bedding. Great location near highways but in a walk-able neighborhood to see the lovely homes in the area. Host was very responsive to our requests. As in other reviews, some updates and walls are sub-par, but overall a comfortable space.

Get what you pay for

We were in town for the NCAA Frozen Four and Cardinals baseball. Came across this listing and thought the price was likely too good to be true based on pictures. Unfortunately, we got what we paid for. The property itself and the neighborhood around it is extremely rundown and falling apart. Upon arrival, it became very apparent very quickly how rundown things were. Electrical outlets sparked when plugging in a cord, and we’re not in very convenient locations. The kitchen table and chairs were quite wobbly and rickety, and even though there are four chairs in the kitchen table picture there were only three left when we arrived for a group of four. Not totally surprising given their condition. Next up was the upstairs bathroom when the shower was turned on the handle pulled right off the wall. When we went to make coffee, the coffee pot had several little cracks in the bottom and leaked all over.. The Wi-Fi was very unstable and never got fully connected (thankfully, we had our own hotspots), the counters in the kitchen were not glued down or secured, the sectional couch in the living room was poor condition, the dishwasher did not work and it was clear things had not been thoroughly cleaned in quite some time as we found crumbs, a Rubik’s cube, dead bugs, etc., throughout the property if you are looking for a high quality VRBO in St Louis this is NOT the one!
