Perfect little hide-away

It was a very nice place to stay when I was coming into town alone to go to baseball games. Very close to public transit.

I found it to be very clean and quiet. Bed and chairs could have been more comfortable, but for the price it was reasonable. I parked around the corner on St. Vincent. I felt my car was safer there.

Cozy oasis near Webster Campus

Cool clean and comfy stay. This is a single room in the basement of a single family home with its own entrance at the back of the house, off street parking right out front. Fewer than ten minutes drive to Opera Theater St. Louis’s festival playhouse.

Nice landing place

Pleasant stay

I was moving my freshman into SLU. Quick 10 minutes on the highway. Note: the parking location has changed, and you must park on the street. The Vrbo pages had not been updated at my reservation time.

We chose this property for its excellent location, a very short walk from the Shrewsbury train station. Our experience with the St. Louis mass transit system was very positive. We were so happy not to rent a car! Our hosts were very accommodating, letting us leave our luggage for several hours after checking out.

Cozy and Restful

A Wonderful Place

Whether your are visiting for a short or long amount of time this place has everything you need. Tim and Bev are very gracious hosts and a joy to talk with. The House Rules are simple if you think they are excessive you're wrong this is how they maintain such a prestine area. Very quiet and peaceful which is surprising being so close the city. We will be staying here again!

Great stay close to WashU

We planned this visit to St. Louis for our daughter’s college graduation at WashU. Our son decided to join us, and our hosts were very understanding and accommodating about this change of plans. The hosts, Tim and Beberly, were exceedingly friendly in making sure that any needs were met. They made us feel very welcome. They added things like sweets and cold water that made it nice. Kept lots of things that travelers need. Well thought out. Wonderful hideaway in St. Louis County with central location. Great owners and very communicative people. We hope to find them here forever and we would like to come back, again. Thank you Tim and Beverly!

A sweet spot

Great little basement space for 2 people that was warm and dry....no dampness at all. The shower head was marvelous! The Key West decorations are carefully displayed and lifts your spirit. Parking is literally across the street and safe under bright lights at the top of a slight rise. Tim and Beverly are intensely interested in the quality of their guest's stay. The coded entry was so nice since I didn't have to carry a key. I loved strolling through the neighborhood. My trip was all about spending time with family which was a short 2 mi. drive. I will definitely stay again. Thanks Tim and Beverly!

A comfy and convenient place in St Louis

I came to St Louis to help my daughter to move in into her residence hall at Webster University. Because we missed some flight connections, we arrived past the check-in hours so she stayed with me at Tim and Beverly's during our first night in St Louis. Our hosts were very understanding and accommodating about this change of plans. The place is quite comfortable for two people. It was very conveniently located for us, close to Webster and to the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 Station, from where one can catch the Metro Link to the airport and downtown. As we were busy with preparations for the beginning of classes, we did not have much time to see many places around, besides Webster Groves. But now that our daughter is in St Louis, I will be coming back and will definitely stay with Tim and Beverly again!

Uneasy

Good location, clean, BUT, several things happened! We asked for an early check in and was told "absolutely not 4: firm". We asked if we could drop off our luggage early, he said "yes", then we got a text about 2:00 the day of arrival asking our ETA, and I told him about 3:00, and he came back with a condescending "didn't you read the arrival time, no check in until 4:00!" He told us not to pull into his driveway but to pull into the business across the street and park there all week! Then at 3:30 we pulled in across the street & saw him on his driveway & as we walked toward him, he saw us and went in the house. So, we took a walk & came back at 4. We asked the business if it was ok to park there, and they said they never had been asked, but it is ok this time. ??? weird Then the next day without a warning of any kind, he had a scheduled AC maintenance guy come in our (locked) small room, they moved our luggage and were in & out for quite a while. Very weird! A few other thinks like, he said large studio but tiny room, not room to work or eat except on a TV tray, said toaster oven, so we brought bread & bagels to toast, but no toaster. Very uneasy! Will not be back!

Was all excited for this stay in St Louis but disappointed. Not for me, the house rules are ridiculous for a single traveler this place creeped me out, Beverly is home all the time, watching you, it’s creepy and reports back to her husband, you hear everything your in there basement with all the owners personal stuff, they were doing there laundry when i arrived, knock on the door Friday at 10 pm to shut off the water heater, i was very uncomfortable they have access to the space at anytime, the decor is the owner personal stuff, clutter and dirty the bathroom gross smells, the quiet hours are untrainable considering you’re traveling to site see, and might get back late i got a threat to be evicted for having the tv on all night to help myself sleep it was too loud, it was to have background noise! The door programming lock was completely a joke so you don't lock your door, its the house door, your belongings are not Secure enough it’s weird! I have been traveling for years and have never been threatened i didn’t relax at all in this place! Would Not recommend unreasonable host! Tim and Beverly shouldn't be hosting! Good luck with these people come off nice but then….. you get threatened thank goodness i only stayed 3 days
