"I wasn’t pleased to arrive after many delays with flights and car rental to find that I couldn’t manage the lockbox, either one. Though I got a quick response when I called the number provided, there was an 11/2 wait to get into the property. I texted with someone several times, and it was finally suggested that perhaps the codes were reversed. Ultimately, they were, and after numerous tries, I finally did get in. It wasn’t easily managed though. Even though I was assured that someone was on their way to help me, they never arrived. I bought a few groceries on the way in so that I could heat up something after a long, long day. There was no microwave, and no directions on how to use the gas stove. I couldn’t get it to light. Thankfully, I had some crackers that I had bought in the airport! I bought creamer for coffee in the morning, because all VRBO‘s supply some kind of coffee or a coffee maker. Yes, there was a coffee maker, but no coffee. The woodstove was disconnected, and the thermostat didn’t work so there was no heat. It was a rainy, cold night. I tried to make the best of things by having a hot bath in the beautiful clawfoot bathtub, but the hot water only lasted for 10 minutes which translates to 4 inches of warm water in the tub. I am not happy, and no refunds have been offered to me, even after communicating my displeasure to the agency. "

"The kids got to swim, jump off a floating platform, kayak & canoe, fish, roast marshmallows by the fire, and help me grill dinner. If any of these is your goal then this is a fantastic place to do it. There's also rentals for boats and jetskis nearby. The swim area is shaded starting in the afternoon. Property also included paddles for the kayaks/canoe as well as the requisite life jackets you'd need to go out. It's shared space, but we didn't have a problem finding a kayak or sharing the fire pit, deck, etc. The fishing was very good for the kids and they caught at least a dozen fish. Ashby was very responsive when we had an issue and got us a solution quickly. As for the downsides: As mentioned in other reviews, it is a tight spot: a small room w/ bed and couch + tiny kitchen + small bathroom, with a really nice screened porch. They gave us very nice airbeds for the kids which worked well. The bed itself was OK but mildly aggravated an existing back problem. Lots of bugs but that is too be expected, and we didn't see any ticks the entire week we were there. Overall fantastic spot. Perfect for us but mileage will vary depending on for what you are looking. "

"Roxanne is a great host! The check-in process was very easy and she stopped by to explain everything about the cottage and property. She always responded quick to questions via text and was very flexible in our checkout process since we needed to leave at 4am for a flight. Overall the property is in great shape and was everything we wanted and more for our vacation on Sebago. Would definitely highly recommend this property!"
