Farm track near Saltby Airfield This track leads to the north of Saltby airfield which is beyond the trees to the far right. The land here is over the Lincolnshire Limestone Formation and there are several limestone quarries, both operational and disused, in the area. Beneath the limestone is a bed of Northamptonshire ironstone which is near the surface in the lower terrain a few miles south west.
