"Friendly family business, good value. Comfortable bed and hot shower which was exactly what I needed after 18 hours of international travel. I stayed 2 nights in late September to attend a wedding in nearby Ripponden. The room was quite chilly but I actually like sleeping in a cold room. A space heater was provided, though I didn’t use it as the bed was cosy enough.
It was handy that they served food downstairs and I really appreciated the vegetarian/vegan selections including veggie sausages...
"Above a pub - walking up the stairs already made me feel uneasy. Very dusty and a smelly dirty carpet. The room itself would have been fine had it not been for the hair, dirt and used tissues under the bed, the very old very worn and way too soft mattress that makes you feel all the springs and the black bedsheets with holes in them. Not coming back."
"Room was very clean. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Food in the restaurant was delicious. My only criticism would be that there was only a small desk top fan. And in the middle of a heatwave the room was ridiculously hot."
