"This property was going through extensive renovations at the time of our stay. The workers were pounding and sawing until around 9pm. There was debris everywhere making it not only unsafe, but very unsightly! Our room window looked out onto an ugly mountain of discarded mattresses. Our room had been renovated and was nice, but was very small. I think this hotel should not have been open for business during their renovation, and we definitely should not have been charged full price!"

Enjoyable 1-bedroom rustic cottage in Southport.

"We had a wonderful weekend here! The cottage was just what we expected, and we were able to move right in after a late arrival. Everything was very nicely set up and we didn't have any trouble finding anything we wanted. Mindy did a great job of sending us info in advance, and the binder provided in the cottage covered all that and more.The location is really great: the changing views over the water were enjoyable, and places in Southport or Bar Harbor are both easy to get to. It's not far from the main road but far enough to be very quiet.We enjoyed a sunny Friday morning at the Boothbay Region Land Trust headquarters and a wonderful afternoon at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Bookstores in Bar Harbor took up half a very cold, wet, and windy Saturday while the rest of the day was spent in the cottage reading the books we bought!It was a great place to be in both good and bad weather. We'd be very happy to stay there again next time we're in the area!"

"I’ve stayed here multiple times and always had a great experience — the location alone keeps me coming back. That’s what made this visit so disappointing. The floor in our room was visibly dirty. My daughter walked barefoot and her feet were black. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly in some time. Boothbay has limited affordable options, and this place has real potential. But cleanliness isn’t a luxury — it’s a baseline. I hope management takes this seriously, because I’d genuinely like to return."

"Beautiful hotel, amazing grounds with water views, a nice pool, gazebo, outdoor games for kids and adults and an indoor gameroom too. Mike and i enjoyed the ping pong table. Definitely worth the money and we will be back to stay again. The restaurant at the hotel had gormet food and wonderful, friendly service. The server also went out of his way to check if the hotel would be lighting the firepit outside because we mentioned we would like to have a quiet night by the fire. The hotel staff were also very friendly and attentive. Our room was lovely, well decorated and had gorgeous water views. The king bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot with good water pressure. No tv in the room, but the whole hotel was quiet and respectful. Mike and I will definitely be back to Maine and the resort."
