"Terribly disappointing!! Going to Houston for 3 days, figuring it would be hot, I had planned on spending most of it by the pool. I check in, they say it's under maintenance. I go to the pool later and there's a sign posted by the city that is been closed since JUNE!! 3 months, so I go to the office for some kind of reimbursement, and the lady said it's not been open for 4 YEARS!! There was never a manager to talk to, I was given a business card with an email address. I wanted to check out, but...

"The room is comfortable, but there is no clock in the room. I have to look for my phone in the middle of the night to see the time. Also the TV is fixed, no rotation towards the bed. The vehicle gate did not work when leaving, had to call the valet to have the gate opened. The valet mentioned to us the gate has been operating under this condition for several days."

"The couch bed in the corner room was very hard and uncomfortable. A rollaway might have been better. We loved the pool area, but we were there Monday-Wednesday, and there were no chairs by the pool that had shade. In order to get shade, you had to pay a ridiculous amount to reserve a cabana, which came with pool chairs. We only saw about two families/couples using these cabanas, while multiple chairs were empty with umbrellas over them. We did ask Abigail on Monday if we could have an umbrella moved over, and she got permission for us to move to chairs by the cabana closest to the open completely sunny area around 2:30. On Tuesday, another pool waitress said no around 3:00 to an elderly couple who needed shade, even though only two were occupied. After I argued, she went and asked permission from a manager, who allowed them to sit under the umbrella. This is ridiculous! There should be some chairs with umbrellas for people not using cabanas. I understand for summertime on weekends, but this is fall on weekdays! The pool bar staff and coffee shop clerk were awesome!"
