Was “universal“ designed for every guest. Special needs incorporated into a beautiful design, not added on as a clumsy afterthought. Years ago designers attempted to plan for active families with limited access for broken legs from sports injuries to aging parents with limited mobility.
Bedding was luxurious. Comfortable and clean.
Temperature control was perfect and adjustable. Consistent throughout room. Ample Data points and electrical outlets were thoughtfully placed. Light controls as well were located where needed.
The bathroom was large enough for a wheelchair to move easily. Shower access and grab bars were incorporated beautifully. A shower seat and hand held shower were perfect for personal grooming as well as those of us that want a long leisurely shower.
Overall, room was quiet and a peaceful retreat with facilities to make brewed coffee and tea. Refrigerator/microwave for treats and essentials for those that carry meds that require refrigeration. Room service was casual, fast and fun in recycle materials. Stylish bar, restaurant, and deluxe workout facilities by the pool were available. All well maintained by a professional and friendly staff. Hilton is “An unexpected gem” when visiting Jacksonville and the world renowned Mayo Clinic.
