I had an emergency work trip that could not be helped. I booked the room last minute as I was on my way in. The trip kept me up and awake for over 30 hours which is what it is. However, I had a quick break to go to the hotel for hopefully a nap before getting back to work. The manager refused to give me a room until 3pm. I explained the situation and they could care less, I explained this was my only chance for the next several hours to sleep, and just need a room, which had already been paid for. They refused. I told them to cancel the room, they refused, and then said that if they did cancel it I would not get money back. I told them they were not going to charge me for a bed that they refused to give me. The kid working the desk when I arrived was polite and it was not his fault, his boss however, not so much. later in the morning I was afraid the trip looked like it would be extended, I asked the manager who was there if she could please look at extending the stay, because I need to rush out right then and there and just wanted to make sure were all good before it was too late to extend it. She snarky looked at me and said no I'm eating my lunch. I just looked at her, and said I needed to rush, if she could please just check. To which she said, "oh you're the one who caused problems cause you wanted to be here early." No one plans for these things, but when a customer has already purchased a room, and it's a rush, provide the service.
