"Great staff and location! I accidentally booked a smoking room so we did have a room that smelled like cigarettes. Be ware before you book if you have a smoking room!"
"This was such a special property that was the ultimate luxury. The staff was impeccable and kind and so helpful. The room was dreamy with every minor detail executed perfectly. Nothing was forgotten and the breakfast and dinner onsite was a beautiful experience with delicious food."
"Great little hotel in Nara. Room was clean and nice with a balcony that was private despite facing the street (high walls). Only stayed one night so didn’t use many amenities but there was an onsen for guests which was nice as well as a self serve kitchen (perhaps self serve outside of breakfast hours) that we used. More traditional style room but with western style bed. It is right beside the park and a 5-10 minute walk to kintetsu-Nara station. Very close to lots of food and shops, and of course the deer. Good sound proofing but you’ll still occasionally hear the deer screaming which is all a part of the experience. Would definitely stay here again."
"Fantastic breakfast including fresh breads and Japanese hot dishes. Homemade fresh local tofu. Many organic foods.
Close to station and shops and restaurants.
Great view of Nara City at night during the happy hour or morning during breakfast.
Basic pillow was traditional Japanese pillow filled with beans or grain. Other softer pillows were available from the front reception area.
The hotel is working hard to reduce/eliminate carbon footprint.
As a traveler with small luggage at the end of our journey, loved that the hotel had a clothing donation area in the lobby with donations going to support medicine needs overseas."
"Walking distance to Nara Park, every morning it is a treat just walk a few minutes, we can feed deers. Kintetsu station is very close, if you prefer use JR, it is also walking distance. It is very close to the action, but I the mean time far away enough to avoid tourists flood!"
"This is one of a handful of classy historic hotels near major rural attractions in Japan. A real old fashioned high-end style and treatment that makes you think you're in the 1930s. The location is convenient to the Nara Park where the historic attractions are located. It is not in walking distance of either train station."
