Southern most point of the South Island, New Zealand
Slope Point is the southernmost point of the South Island, a 20 minute walk through a sheep pasture to a little lighthouse and a sign marking the location on beautiful rugged clifftops in the Catlins. The walk is closed from Sept-Nov. during lambine.

The petrified forest at Curio Bay. It's just a small town with one attraction. Here you can see the forest at low tide. In the evening you can spot some yellow eyed penguins. There is also a very nice beach.
