"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fell View. It sits high on a hillside and has an incredible view looking over the mountains to the south in the Lake District. You can sit on the front porch and just enjoy the vista! There is also a nice backyard which we didn't get to use. A friend in Manchester had suggested that we had done better if we had booked in Keswick or similar, but we ended up loving being in Penrith. "Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business.
