"The property is in a nice quiet area with plenty of parking. There is also a bus stop right outside. Our room was great with a great view of the valley. I think the stay is good for a relaxing evening with lots to do in the property and around. They have some vegetarian options in the menu as well. They have spa treatments that are advertised for 7 days a week, but don’t seem to operate on Sundays or Mondays, which is bad if you’re planning to spend the weekend there. Not the property if you were planning to get a massage after a long hike. As it is a period property, there are no lifts to the rooms, so you may need to carry your luggage up the stairs through a maze of doors although I think it’s only one floor so should generally be okay.."

"All good and hotel met expectations. Hotel is perhaps a little tired and in need of some refurbishment but rooms clean, beds comfortable and good shower, ideal for golf trip accommodation and reasonably priced. Only thing to watch out for is my room was next to the kitchen extractor fan that comes on at 7am so don’t expect a lie in if you are in room 6"

"My husband, our pup and I had the pleasure of staying at the Halston for one night, and I wish we had booked for longer. The apartment/hotel rooms are large, far more generous than the photos, and very well equipped for both long and short stays. The staff provided a welcome package on arrival, complete with dog treats, crumpets, jam, butter, milk and coffee – which was so appreciated after a day of travel. The space is quiet, clean, comfortable and very conveniently located to the train station. With good restaurants on site and a nice outdoor area for a pint – it is just a lovely hotel."

"The property is on a corner spot on a lovely wide street, it was larger than expected inside. 3 double size bedrooms, 2 of which are very spacious. All the beds are really comfortable. The bathroom upstairs was really large with a fabulous roll top bath and a fabulous shower. There is also a very useful shower room downstairs, unfortunately the toilet seat needs tightening back into place. The towels provided were lovely large thick ones.You enter the house into a lovely modern kitchen. A wonderful surprise was a utility room complete with a dishwasher, washer and dryer. The only problem we had was that unfortunately the microwave was not working, we contacted owner, he stated replacement was on order. Admittedly we did not do any cooking during our stay as the weather was amazing and we had main meals out at various establishments. Silloth has a good variety of places to eat out for a small town. The lounge has ample seating with 2 x 3 seater sofas and a comfortable chair plus a dining table and chairs. Would love to revisit. The grandchildren also thought it was a brilliant place to stay they really appreciated the internet having a good connection. Lots of really nice features such as games etc available at the property."
