"We were 5 and stayed in the 8 beds room. The heater was switched on and beds were made when we arrived late in the afternoon. Aitor was there to welcome us and gave us a tour of the house which was recently renovated in mid 2022. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The breakfast was the best we had during our 5 days trip in Pais Vasco. We ordered dinner from a local takeaway as we were too tired to go out. "The inn has been beautifully restored. Our room was lovely. We spent 24 days in Spain and stayed in 9 hotels. El Retiro Obispo was by far the best overall. It's exceptional, along with host Terri. She went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. She booked two very different but equally delicious winery tours and lunches for us when we asked for her help. "

"We have just had three nights here and what a fantastic three nights they were. The property is lovely and in the perfect location, just a short stroll from old town (5 mins) and new town (5 mins). Despite being so central it was very quiet, and we had two balconies with our room (204!) including a glimpse of the sea! All the staff were lovely and friendly, and provided a map with recommendations. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you "
