Property is well maintained despite being old. It is situated near mall road and has easy access to main road. The staff is very courteous and friendly. We had an amazing and comfortable stay.

Visiting Clarkes is like stepping back in time. The architecture of the building makes such a refreshing change from the modern hotels of concrete, glass and over the top air conditioning. Our room was lovely and was beautifully furnished and the public areas of the hotel were also thoughtfully presented. Although some people might find it a little formal, the staff were friendly and polite without exception. We would stay there again without hesitation.

Exceptional hospitality

Family stay at Clarks!

Clarks is heritage propery with excellent location ! The the sunset view from terrace is easily viewable . staff is extremely polite and helpful. It being our anniversary they endured a very comfortable stay and decorated our room so nicely! It's an Oberoi chain and lives upto its name . The food was nice and breakfast buffet was good except that I wish the coffee was better The property is in severe need of renovation as certain corners of the room smell of the stale rubber in sofas. In all otherwise we enjoyed our stay!

Nice hotel on the mall and close to some government offices which was my requirement. Do not expect a modern building but this heritage building is clean, staff excellent, food good, fuss free, quiet and safe, overall i enjoyed my stay.

Clarke's a reason to come to Shimla

This hotel could be a reason to visit Shimla. Unique service and friendly people everywhere. Fantastic view over a wonderful city! Only the cracy Raj/English could contemplate establishing a city in these steep hills, and only Indians could make it work. (They literally carried the English colon-izers (sic) on their backs!) We'll be back at Clarke's!

Old world charm.

Fabulous hotel. The service here is impeccable. We got an upgrade to a suite room which was large and spacious. It had a small study a living area a bedroom and walk-in closet. The bathroom was huge too. It’s right in mall road so convenient to step out for a walk. The himachali food at the restaurant was delicious.

Superb Shimla

Had a FABULOUS time. Lovely, clean and quiet town. Very safe and friendly. Great experience to go up on the toy train and come back on the car motorail. Clarke's was so good, comfortable and convenient to the Mall. I wish we had had longer and look forward to another stay later. Only government cars can drive on the Mall so safe, quiet and easy to negotiate. The old Gaiety theatre a REAL gem. WONDERFUL that this piece of history still exists and has been restored. So much history in Shimla, well worth a visit and magnificent scenery and sunsets. Thank you Shimla and India.
