Black Lantern's rustic cabin offers a cozy retreat, sleeping two people and maybe a child on the loft. Unwind with air conditioning, TV and DVD for movie nights, or sit on the adorable porch by the firepit with cooking grate.

Small Rustic cabin at the Black Lantern Resort
Soak up the outdoors on the front porch! The cabin is near the resort’s garden and campsites at the Black Lantern resort. It is a tiny log cabin that sleeps just two people, an additional twin size air mattress can fit in the loft. Complete with a queen size bed, a little loft, air conditioning, a stove/oven, pots and pans, microwave, small fridge, radio, TV and DVD for watching movies, a coffee machine, an adorable porch for setting on with chairs, a pic-nic table, firepit with a cooking grate and a hot and cold water dispenser for drinking and cooking water. THE CATCH IS: you must walk a short ways to the shower house to use the shower or toilet. This cabin does not have a bathroom or sink, but is located really close to a bathroom and shower house . The cabin also has its own outhouse next to the cabin, a big wash basin for dishes and a spigot outside for hooking up sprinklers for the kiddos and filling water jugs to use inside the cabin. The Culligan machine inside the cabin for drinking and cooking water makes the “no plumbing” part a breeze . You have access to the Resort's trails, playground, little fishing lake and the free paddled boats. Our lake is small, but a host to all sorts of wildlife , it is wonderful to paddle in spring and fall, except for it gets really weedy in the dead of summer . But it’s still beautiful to watch wildlife on . Between old downtown Bemidji and Itasca State Park both are a 25 minute drive. Bemidji has a gorgeous waterfront, many festivals, the Paul Bunyan and Babe Statues, many great restaurants, and antique stores too. Itasca has a sandy beach with showers, the origin of the Mississippi, a ferry boat, Douglas Lodge for a great restaurant, bike and boat rentals, and many biking trails.

Very neat cabin, clean and nicely stocked. Great place to stay.
Very nice spot, nice chalet with all you need into the wild. Access to a very nice lake and natural environment. We have seen wildlife dear, birds, rabbits and a black bear.
The cabin is super cute. It has everything that you need. I would definitely recommend and stay here again. Simple, quaint place to unplug. Location was great, 25 minutes to Bemidji and only 20 minutes the Lake Itasca State Park. We would highly recommend.
Wonderful cabin in a beautiful, tranquil setting. I definitely plan on returning! And the hosts are the best I've ever experienced. I called them to notify them that my stay needed to be cut short due to a family emergency, and they literally rushed to the cabin to help me pack and leave! I will never forget their kindness, compassion and thoughtfulness during a very stressful time.
Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. The resort grounds are well kept and very cute. The cabin was comfy, well stocked, and clean. The site is close to local sites like Itasca State Park. Be sure to hit the grocery store before you go, or plan ahead to go into Bemidji. It’s about a 25 minute drive. Firewood can be purchased by the bundle on site for $5 - much cheaper than elsewhere nearby. It was quiet and relaxing. Bed was cozy and we slept so good! Kitchen was well stocked and we were able to eat well during our trip. Some cooked over the fire pit outside the cabin, and some inside. As far as I know, there are no camp showers on site and there is a port-a-potty that is for the cabin use only. The host has put string lights on both the deck and in the outhouse for nighttime. Overall, we highly recommend a stay here!
Great quiet, peaceful, getaway near parks and activities!
Easy check-in and directions with communicative hosts. Video exactly tells you want is there and possibly to bring. Nicely mowed area around cabin with low-to-no bugs. Would stay again!
We had a great time at this little cabin! It's rustic in the sense that there is no running water but it has everything you need. Very clean campground with lots of amenities. Cabin is in it's own private area with it's own clean outhouse and water available outside. Conveniently located with Bemidji and Itasca nearby. We will be back!
The cabin was a lovely little getaway. It had everything I needed to have a comfortable stay. I love that they have a YouTube video to show you everything.

We’d go back!
My son (7) and I had a wonderful weekend at the Rustic Cabin. This was the right amount of camping for us - we had a fire outside for hotdogs and s’mores, but we also had a/c and tv/dvd inside. The cabin was well stocked with kitchen tools and dishes. It was so clean, you could eat off the floor. I’ll eagerly recommend this cabin to friends and family.
From the moment I drove in and saw the cabin I was in love. The inside was even better. Perfect one room cabin for my sister and I to spend time reconnecting from busy life.
The cabin is darling!! There is no running water inside it. Running water is outside. There is a port-a-potty outside. We brought a bucket, so was no problem at night. You're off my yourself and very private. Lots of walking paths, swimming, kayaking, etc. Very great people to work with! Annie was the one we talked with and she was awesome!!
There is nothing to complain about and all the rave about. Caretakers are super nice, cabin was as listed and very clean, the environment was so peaceful, there are other campers near by but you still have privacy, porta-potty behind cabin very convenient and also clean. No showers just plan for that. There is a nice large pond, small lake that you can fish in they have jon boats and kayaks for your use. Bagley is your best nearest town for services and a short drive. We loved our stay and recommend you give it a try!
We loved the cabin. It was very well kept, clean, and comfortable. We stayed a very hot weekend and the air conditioning kept us cool. Everyone at the park was friendly and we had a wonderful time. Use of kayaks/canoes was free with our rental and there were some nice shaded trails to walk on. We hope to rent again!
This cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway! It was relaxing, perfect disconnect from devices and everything we were expecting. Anne was amazing and we will definitely be coming back for an extended stay.
Wonderful cozy rustic getaway cabin. We enjoyed our stay very much! Will definitely stay again!
The booking process was smooth and easy. I came in late, but Annie had the heat and lights on for me. She even contacted me to provide alternative directions due to road construction. The cabin suited us perfectly!
We had a great time in the cozy rustic cabin! Explored near by Bemidji, MN and Itasca State Park. Walked the trails in the resort and kayaked on the lake, absolutely beautiful property with lots to keep you busy!
The black Lantern Resort was great! My husband and I stayed three nights in a small cute cabin.
The bathroom was just outside the cabin, but it was clean also. There was several hiking trails to choose from, Kayaking or canoeing, fishing and a few places outside of our cabin to cook if we wanted to grill out, out just sit by a camp fire. If you like waking up to the sounds of nature and a beautiful sun rise. The Black Lantern is the ideal place to stay.
We had the best experience staying at this cabin. It had everything we could need on our last minute, weekend getaway. Annie was super helpful and accommodating as well. We were able to canoe, fish and hike which is exactly what we were looking for during the day and then wind down with a bonfire at night. We will definitely be returning and recommending this cozy spot to our friends and family!

I will be returning. Amazing service.
The rustic cabin is a huge step up from a tent. There is power and even air conditioning! If that doesn't convince you it has a cute little kitchen area with a stove, oven, fridge, coffee maker (not k cup), and various utensils. The whole place is cedar and smells amazing. The bed wasn't bad and found a funny dvd to watch before bed. No running water but portable waiter stations are around. I suggest renting one of their golf carts like we did and bum around. There is a fire grill and I cooked most meals on that for fun. Firewood for sale but we brought 2x4's. the lake is small and weedy but we fished out of the canoe. It's so beautiful out there. Annie is so sweet. Seriously. If someone ever gives less than five stars there is no pleasing that person in life.
