"The hotel is undergoing extensive refurbishment at present. (Our room was beautiful.) So any comment on the property condition and surrounding area would not be a true representation of how they will be when the refurbishment are complete. We had stayed here last year and were very pleased."

"Super clean historic house converted to a really nice, informal hotel. They offer breakfast and have a bar for drinks. Central location and friendly staff. Easy to get to restaurants, shops, pubs and public transport. Not sure about parking as we travelled by train. The property has no lift to the upper floors, but reception staff will help with luggage, and you can ring reception from the room. Robust WiFi signal, air con and windows that actually open. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Complimentary drink at the bar on the first evening. Cheers!"

"Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the family room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection of both hot and cold options and the food tasted great. 15 minute drive on quiet roads to Longleat which was main purpose of our weekend. "

"Great stay in a comfortable well equipped, top floor attic room. Wifi a bit hit and miss, but manager was very helpful and tried to reboot it. Should have asked if they had a couple of softer pillows. Complimentary biscuits, and water in room, nespresso coffee machine, smart tv and great refurbed bathroom with touchlit mirror, pleasant branded shampoo, conditioner and shower gel."

"Our stay was amazing. The room was spacious, quaint and felt like we had gone back in time. The building was 800 years old, so the floors and stairs were uneven, but it only added to the charm. We loved it! The bathrooms were modernized and spotless. Breakfast was cooked to order along with a buffet. It was delicious. The staff was delightful. They couldn't have been any better. The location was close to the cathedral and about a 20 minute walk to the train station. "

"Great service, nice food and a clean room. What’s not to love. Went there for business but 100% would return for a weekend away. I was greeted by a bunny in the car park, watched doves from window and squirrels Entertained me Through the window while Eating breakfast. So peaceful "
