"We were celebrating our 64th anniversary and it was perfect for us. We enjoy western decor and settings so my wife was very pleased the choice to stay the Sportsmans. We would have appreciated a breakfast."

"Loved everything about the property and our stay! The only difficult thing was making sure we were at the right place. I got an email from "Vrbo" saying "Here are the keys to your trip" but I thought it was a promo from some company I didn't know, rather than an important message from the rental property. If I had opened it, I would have seen it had some important identifying information that would have helped us find the property easier, and know we were in the right place. The internet was spacy there, and our phones didn't always work well, and I couldn't easily pull up information for the site to see a picture of the cabin to make sure we were at the right place!"

"First the positives. This really nice hotel has been recently renovated. Very clean. The towels were absolutely the cleanest smelling towels I have ever smelled!! The bed was comfortable. They do allow a dog (but Hotels.com doesn’t tell you it’s a $50 fee). The owners are very nice gentlemen. This wonderful hotel is in the middle of no where and it looks more like a house from the road than a typical hotel. In fact with all the no trespassing signs I wondered if I was in the right place. (I have included photos with this review) Make sure you take the driveway to the left. The no trespassing signs belong to the neighbor. Sadly all the rooms are upstairs so this is not handicapped accessible. The owners did help my paralyzed on left side husband get upstairs and make sure he didn’t fall down the staircase. "

"we have stayed here multiple times because it is a little slice of heaven. It is quiet, clean and comfortable and the views are breathtaking. It is a short drive down to the lake, a short drive into Ennis and beyond. "

"Great property. New and well maintained. Really enjoyed the ability to park in the garage. Fishing accesses for the Madison river are only about 15-20 minutes away. Virginia City was an easy 40 minute drive. About 20 minute drive to Ennis. Great place to stay! Thank you!"

"Excellent customer service Patty suggested eating at the Steakhouse and made our reservations for us. The maintenance man was very nice the evening desk clerk shared history stories with us. The Brewery Follies were awesome as always. The new owner of the Star bakery came around and visited with all of us at breakfast. As always I enjoyed my stay at VC."

"The Wild Trout is a fantastic place to stay in Ennis. The house is thoughtfully appointed with all the amenities one might need and then some. In addition to the very comfortably cool western motif and a complete kitchen, additional touches include a humidor for cigar smokers, an electric Traeger pellet grill, a complete coffee and tea set-up (with high-quality coffee beans, K-cups, and teas provided), Wi-Fi, TV viewing options, an electric fire place, and a fly-tying station. The washer/dryer came in handy too. The location was very convenient and everything on Main Street was easily walkable. Despite its proximity to Main Street, the house was still quiet and peaceful in the evenings. And the expansive views in the backyard are amazing. I look forward to returning, and anticipate some interesting additional features in the backyard that will nicely finish out the entire property."
