"Really nice welcome at check in. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff and service in the bar, casual dining and at breakfast were all good. Lovely food in the casual dining area. The only things we could fault were a loose toilet seat and the flush was difficult to use. The bathroom window didn’t open so everything in there was wet with steam the whole time "

"We were walking the Reivers Way. We had a great welcome. The room was excellent, very spacious, clean and comfortable with a bath, just what was needed after a days walk. The restaurant food was excellent and good value. Unfortunately my wife said her hip was hurting. The following morning my wife hip was still hurting so we decided to discontinue our walk and to travel home. Unfortunately because of a road closure the bus from Wark to Hexham wasn’t running. The receptionist, contacted her father who very kindly gave us a lift to The station. For which I gave him some money which was to be donated to the hotels charity ‘Water aid’. A fantastic service by a great hotel. We will return again to continue our walk once my wife is feeling better."
