"Perfect cottage for our three day break. Spotless, comfortable, tastefully furnished and definitely recommended. Will use again."

"The property is set in a stunning setting, opposite Blencathra, in a really quiet location. Unfortunately, however, the cottage has a rodent problem. Each morning we'd find mouse droppings underneath the fridge, on window ledges and by the sink. On leaving we also discovered mice had chewed through one of our bags."

"The property was in a state of disrepair, and it is noted the property currently has a “For Sale” sign, providing some understanding of the cause of the very poor state of the rental. Areas below acceptable standards were as follows: 1. Spiral staircase to top bedroom unsafe. Top handrail is unsecured, and a pole fell out one night while the stairs were not in use. Very dangerous. 2. Central heating – the ground floor rear bedroom had no heat at all, the radiator in the bedroom and the...

"This is a really lovely and immaculately maintained property, and one that provides and excellent base for exploring the Lake District. It is very well equipped and comfortable, and also nice and quiet - just the tonic if on a break. We enjoyed cooking and relaxing and also exploring the local area, which was new to us. We hope to stay again!"

"Very spacious downstairs, perfect for a big group. 2 lovely bedrooms with fantastic en suites and 2 good bedrooms with small en suites. Beautiful grounds with river and hot tub a great bonus. Altogether a lovely stay and would highly recommend."

Great walks from the door with neighbouring Kirkby Stephen easily accessed by foot path or car for shopping. Ample parking space that is easy to access. Quiet. We very much enjoyed our stay"

"Bedroom wall had bad damp all over one wall which left a musty smell. Main room had only one blind which meant sun light woke me up at 4/30 am. Terrible mattress which was awful to sleep in. "

"The accommodation offered value for money in a great location within easy driving distance of Keswick. If we were to be critical we would say that the stairs are tricky if even for the most able bodied particularly at night time. The bed is a small double and extremely soft therefore if sharing with another person you both end up in the middle. The low ceiling is once again tricky particularly if you are tall and despite many customer comments about the shower it does not stay in place and...

"Great value, a perfect location for myself and my family. We are all fit adults and so the small incline walk from town to the property was not a problem. The house had plenty of room and the two big bathrooms were perfect for us. Great value for money - will stay again. Plus met the really lovely cleaning lady our departure. Thank you."
