The Owen Theatre is a small town theatre located “Downtown on the Square” near US 60 in Seymour, MO. The 200 seat theatre was owned by Harold Owen and was built by his father in 1941. This theatre was family operated and the Owen family also owned and operated the Owen Drive-In in Seymour. During the school year this theatre was only open on weekends.

The Owen Theatre & the Owen Drive-In were both closed in 2013 upon the death of Harold Owen.

The Seymour Area Arts Council purchased the theater in 2015 and is in the process of renovating it, with the intent of using it as a community/ performance center.

"A beautiful house and property! Everything was clean and there were so many thoughtful touches. You can really see how much they care. Communication was easy when we needed something and we really appreciated the float trip tips! Easy drive to Branson and Springfield while still being able to enjoy nature.
