Cute little house perfectly located with a fantastic host who was responsive and helpful. We didn’t spend much time in the house, but it was loaded with games and TV/wifi options. This was our first experience using VRBO and the hosts made it an easy process.

Great location! Older home with charm and a lovely view from the dining room to the bay. Easy walk to the shops and restaurants and a very short drive to the harbor. Worked well for two couples traveling together.

Property was perfect for what we needed. Location was excellent and within walking distance to downtown and harbor. Even though it was an older home, it was very functional and kitchen had everything we were looking for.

The house was very convenient to town and other activities in the area! Perfect for families, especially with young children. We appreciated the recommendations to visit the local library next door, along with the neighborhood park and Lowell Point beach area. Our kids enjoyed the selection of games available to play too. Kitchen was fully stocked and there was plenty of room for our multi-generation family of 8. Thank you for a great stay!

Again, Tanguy has aided us in creating great family memories and a comfortable stay. He worked with me in figuring out how to accommodate us and I truly appreciate it. Mostly everything we needed to cook and get cozy was provided, the view as always, soothing and the location unbeatable.

Nice house, clean and convenient to area attractions. The owner was very helpful and courteous and went out of his way to ensure everything was satisfactory. Hopefully we will be back soon. Thank you!

This is a convenient location. No bells or whistles in this older home, but has a beautiful view of the water and is an easy walk to shops etc. we’ve suggested some updating to the owners, but if you’re looking for adequate lodging that is close to a good portion of Seward’s shops, this is a good fit.

This home is the perfect place to stay for a couple of nights when in Seward. We spent 2 nights as we were in Seward for a cruise and wanted something that had a kitchen so we could cook our own light meal due to dietary restrictions. The kitchen was super clean with everything labeled and in its proper place. The rooms were well appointed with clean sheets and linens. for the bathrooms. The view of Resurrection bay from the dining table Was amazing. Check-in and Check-out instructions were very clear. Plenty of parking space both in front of the house and on the side. We will definitely recommend this property.

Right in the heart of downtown Seward. The property owner stopped by to introduce himself as we arrived which was super welcoming. Good size. Can fit 5 people comfortably, 6 if someone is willing to sleep on the couch.

This is an older property in the old part of Seward close to everything. Great decor and use of the space to make it very comfortable and relaxing. The only thing that would be nice is laundry but certainly not a deal breaker. Owner communication was excellent.

This house was perfect for our ladies weekend in Seward, 7 total. We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy downtown house. It is located in a convenient spot just up the street from the Sea life center. The living room was great for us to hang out and play games. The kitchen was perfect for us to be able to make all of our meals. I would definitely recommend this rental and I hope to return in the future. Thanks!

*This is THE place to stay in Seward for large families or groups!* Steps from the water, library, food, shops, playground. The location can’t be beat. The house has a great view of the water, is extremely clean, and perfectly set up for a VRBO stay. The downstairs bedroom with en-suite 3/4 bath was cozy. The upstairs room with queen and a twin bed were perfect for our stay. Also, a bed nook with twin was great for our oldest little to stay comfy. The kitchen has everything you need for preparing a meal, and back deck with large gas grill was great for cooking fish.

We have stayed here as a group of ladies a few years back and were excited to be back. The house was wonderful. It is very charming and suited our group of 5/6 ladies perfectly. We fight over the bunk room which is so special. Since we had incredible 65 degree weather the back deck with both views of water and mountains were perfect. The best thing about this property is location. Once you park you don't have to drive to get to the main spots in 'downtown'. You can squeeze 8 people in the house, however it was perfect for our size of group.

We loved this home in the historic center. For a 100 year old home, it was in pretty good shape. Yeah, it needs some maintenance, but overall, it is well equipped, and the location cannot be beat. Less than a minute walk and you are waterfront at mile 0 of the Ididarod Trail. Gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. Probably time for new mattresses, but overall a perfect place in a perfect setting. 1000% better than any motel experience.

We had 5 people for 2 nights… I called the manager about extra towels and was told there were plenty enough …8 face towels and 8 bath towels… there were in fact 6 face towels and 8 bath towels… he was not very friendly on the phone…..our family took multiple showers because of hiking and stuff and in all Fairness he offered to get them if we didn’t like wet towels lying around… for the cost of this VRBO we thought it should have been cleaner ….

Our fishing group had reserved this cottage for 2 nights. We found the house to be small and dungy. The bathrooms were very small with curling tile on the floor. We turned on the heat but the smell of the furnace was so bad we had to open all the windows and went without heat rather than endure the smell. We definitely would not recommend this home.

I must say the location is nice, 2 blocks from sea life center and ocean view from the porch. It's still far from the harbor on the quite side of the town. But, to be frank, though I know everything is expensive in Alaska, with 2 other nice rental at this trip with lower price, my expectation is high for this one. What I saw is a lot different from the picture on the web, the furnitures is as old as this house, the windows can not be closed. And the smell of the old house. If not considering the average hotel rate of Seward, I would give this house a poor rating.

8/10

This is our second time staying at the property. As mentioned, the location is superb. Morning and evening walks along Resurrection Bay are spectacular. This time we saw stellar sea lions frequently in the water close to the walking path. One evening we watched a humpback whale feeding for at least an hour mostly within 50 yards of the shore. The house is walkable to numerous restaurants, food trucks, and coffee shops. While we drove to the harbor for whale watching boats you could walk it in 15-20 minutes. The house continues to offer a wonderfully equipped kitchen with all you need to cook meals. We would buy fish at the J Dock seafood market and cook up at the house. The Wi-Fi worked great and the TV has Roku. The house also is stocked with K-cups for morning coffee. The host is very communicative. The only negative is the bathroom on the main floor, which in our opinion, should be renovated to be in keeping with the rest of the house and to get a 5-star rating.

Overall, we enjoyed the property. The house was advertised as historic, which it definitely is. Unfortunately, some of the historic features are a bit challenging, or could be for certain travelers. The kids did not mind the stairs, but they’re quite steep and might be difficult for some. Similarly, the water pressure in the showers was fairly low and there was not a lot of hot water. The views are amazing, the beds comfy, and the blinds kept it pretty dark which we appreciated! While I love the concept of sharing leftover items in the fridge, I did throw out a few funky smelling items. It would be helpful to have a sharpie to date items so the next person can have an idea of the freshness. Regarding cleaning, the house was very clean but there were a few details that could’ve been better, such as used bars of soaps in the shower and a coffee machine filled with grinds. I did not call to have these things addressed as they were minor, but perhaps they will be better noted in the future. Overall, happy with our stay and the location was perfect; just outside main part of town but easily walkable to great restaurants, etc
