"A.c worked great. the only thing we wished was different was the view. we didn’t realize it was so close to the highway and the view of the lake wasn’t that great. The property owner was nice and replied back fast. "

"The room was clean. But the facility smelled like natural gas in the hallways, fire alarms randomly went off randomly at 5:30-6:30 am, bar and restaurant were closed on a Saturday night. Rooms were clean, and a nice little breakfast. I realize not much to choose from in Livingston, but the smell and safety concern (as well as lack of sleep) with the fire alarms is a concern."

"Room was very clean and updated. Bathroom updated too. Very happy with our quick stay. Needed a clean place and comfortable bed to rest while passing through. Will definitely stay again if needed. "

"The home is a beautiful location with a perfect view of the lake. The pool is new and the home has a great layout if you have a larger family. It is spacious and the deck under the home provides more open space for entertaining. The interior space layout was nice but there were a few things that needed to be updated and repaired. Hot water was warm, the dishwasher needed repair, the heating and cooling didnt work as it should, there were some holes in the walls, the outdoor sofa was broken, and the pool was filthy when we arrived. It just needed some TLC to fix all of the miscellaneous issues. The property manager did immediately have the pool cleaned after we contacted them so all was good with the pool. The pool was near trees and it is spring so we did have to do a little cleaning to maintain. If the repairs are made it would defitely be a 4 to 5 star review."

"Beautiful location for this comfortable and well-stocked rental. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there is a grill outside. The view is spectacular, especially the sunrise. The kids had fun playing in the water and kayaking in the canal. We had a fabulous time. The owner is very responsive. We brought firewood for the firepit and had S'Mores, of course. We plan on returning for a longer stay."

"This was by far one of our most unique and fun stay! We’re a family of 5, kids ages 8, 10, 13. I read the reviews and there seemed to be a lot of complaints about the roads in the “neighborhood”. It’s unpaved but you definitely don’t need a 4x4 to get through. Trust me the local Dodge Charger had no issues flying around us. The pictures didn’t clarify if there was an oven/stove. I’m here to tell you there is a full size electric stove/oven in the castle. The German style guest house does not have one. There are pots and pans and I had no issues making omelets for breakfast or chili for dinner. Unfortunately during our stay the town was under a burn ban so no fire pit dinners for us. Thankfully my husband packed a small camping blackstone that he set up on the bar behind the castle. Thank goodness it’s covered because after we unloaded the car a cold front blew in freezing rain. There’s a big screen in the castle bedroom. We logged into our movie app and piled the kids into the king size bed for a movie night each night. One of my most favorite memories of the trip! I was worried about my boys staying solo in the guest house. So the first night we all stayed in the castle bedroom. Piled on the chaise lounges and sleeping bags on the floor. By the next day they were brave enough to stay alone. If you love camping this is a great find! Highly recommend. "
