" Our week at Casa do Monte far exceeded our expectations and will be a beautiful memory for our entire family. The ladies that took care of the breakfast and cleaning were wonderful and communication with Marcus was very easy. The breakfasts were delicious. The swimming pool and the outdoor area around it were perfect and we had a weeklong family party. Ricardo and Paula are a couple that operate a restaurant in Teixeira, a short drive from Casa do Monte. They provided a delicious dinner meal for us three nights while we were at the villa. We enjoyed their food so much that on the night that the whole family went out for dinner we went to their restaurant. We could not have picked a better place to stay in all of Portugal. Thank you so much Marcus and all of your staff for making our stay so memorable."

"We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this stunning accommodation in the heart of the Douro Valley, and it completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how immaculately clean and thoughtfully prepared the space was. Every room was spotless and beautifully designed, with every amenity we could have possibly needed—truly a home away from home.The kitchen was fully equipped, making it a joy to cook local meals and enjoy them while soaking in the spectacular surroundings. Speaking of which—the views! Every window framed a postcard-perfect landscape of rolling vineyards and river valleys. It was like living inside a painting.The pool was another highlight—crystal clear, perfectly maintained, and surrounded by panoramic views that made every swim feel like a dream. "Staff at the hotel were superb.. I read some of the comments about five star hotel in previous reviews while the hotel itself may not be a five-star the staff and the service is easily five-star… I laugh at some of the comments…. if you want little slippers and matching housecoat, look like a prince and princess, then go to Palace… the meals were suburban with the first class chef from Brazil… when I came to the restaurant bar you couldn’t want more for service and quality…. awesome place for a weekend getaway… so inconvenient to get to some of the winery for tastings, but make the best of it…."

"The property was absolutely beautiful! It was in pristine condition and everything about it couldn't have been any more perfect! There were four of us and with the bedrooms on separate levels, we had lots of privacy. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the chaises by the pool were comfortable. We would highly recommend this property!"

"Beautiful location, quick helpful responses from host, cleanly. You definitely need a car to stay here, it’s up a winding road for 30 minutes from the nearest small town. Wish we had stayed here longer, would definitely book again. "

"The views are unbelievably beautiful! I traveled with a friend and we had two units w/ balcony next to each other - perfect for us. Be prepared for driving on windy roads with tight turns, but definitely worth the drive. Katia was a wonderful hostess for breakfast, always with a kind word and a smile. "

"La casa en general está muy descuidada. La cocina estaba sucia y solamente pudimos usar el microondas y la cafetera. El resto de electrodomésticos muy sucios y en muy mal estado. Habitaciones separadas realmente solo tiene 2, y el baño, además de peligroso (varias regletas muy cerca de la ducha) es pequeño e insuficiente para una casa supuestamente para 8 personas. La piscina sucia también y con poca agua. Fuera hay unos perros, que aunque separados de la entrada, creemos que podrían saltar en cualquier momento. Una de las noches no pararon de ladrar. La zona, aunque aislada y con un acceso por carreteras estrechas y con curvas, es bonita y tranquila. La valoración general es mala, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que no es nada barata."
