Host did not answer any of my call, texts or emails in order to check in the property. My only contact was with VRBO and even they were not able to contact the host. Meanwhile I had to find a place right away while flying across the country. I am amazed this place is still on any site.
We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was close to the University, walking distance for me. I made a mistake, trying to find the place and the owner was very gracious in helping me. The apartment is in the basement of an older home, and in a charming Seattle neighborhood.
We were excited to check in to this property upon our arrival but were unable to get access because Ellen (the host) was out of the country and did not inform us of this important detail. It was a huge let down to have to make alternative lodging arrangements after a full day of traveling. We ended up in a hotel for our entire stay. It is our understanding that this is not the first time Ellen has done this. After several phone calls with VRBO, we were able to get confirmation that our money would be refunded.
We received confirmation of our booking from vrbo (which we secured and paid for months in advance) but never received any checkin info or any other communication from the host, despite messaging and calling numerous times. We were not able to access the property and HAD NO PLACE TO STAY. Talked to vrbo for an hour, they would do nothing but offer refund, even though I had in writing they guaranteed us a place to stay - “booked with confidence” did not hold true.
Was traveling with my father, friend, and brother for a football game. Arrived in Seattle to NO check in instructions. Reached out multiple times to now reply. Should up at the place and she FIANLLY answered the door and said she wasn’t hosting and we had to take it up with Vrbo. Had four people without a place to stay. Vrbo did make it right but this lady should not be allowed to host any long. Especially, after reading the others that had the same issue. DO NOT RENT TBIS PROPERTY NO MATTER THE PRICE!!!
Perfect place to stay. Hard to park but other than that it was perfect. Darn weather made it hot with no ac so it was hard for my parents but we had fans so that helped a little.
Would recommend this for a quiet spot in Seattle. However with the host and service fees it's almost double the nightly rate if you're only staying one night.

Great Location
I was happy to find this location so close to my family that lives in Wallingford. It’s an easy walk to the park nearby. The apartment is a converted basement with low ceilings. It was very clean and comfortable for myself and my two kids. Communication with the host was inconsistent. I asked to check in early because my flight was early in the day and never got a definitive response although she’d said in earlier messages that she’d let me know if it was possible. When we got there, she only had 2 of the bedrooms unlocked, both with queen size beds. I was expecting the room with 2 twin beds I had seen in the description to be available for my kids. The host offered to open the room instead of one of the queen rooms for a fee. There was nothing about only having access to some of the rooms in the listing. We were able to work it out, although the conversation was tense. The rest of our stay was very comfortable and easy to come and go. The kitchen is very minimal. Overall, I recommend based on the location and cleanliness of the spot.
This property has a pretty accurate description, but we never saw a fire-pit or lawn chairs - only a picnic table sitting on a slanted part of the yard. Other than that our experience was fine. Ellen did offer some extra services which were appreciated.
Without a doubt the most welcoming place I’ve stayed to date. Easy access to the city and a quiet residential neighborhood were the perfect blend. The review board was an amazing touch, showing just how much we all loved the place. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your amazing house!
We got there late but the owner was very accommodating, she was also very quick to respond to my questions during the stay. Rooms were big and cozy, with space heaters for each one. Bathroom was nice and TV was a really nice plus! Would definitely stay here again.
Polite and easy check ins, response time was fast and had a quiet comfy stay. Gets a little cold at night but they provide heaters that will make it nice and warm! Good price.
You can't beat the price for a two bedroom unit. The location is very good, the bed's are good and the owner was very helpful with our requests. The only negative is you don"t really have a well equipped kitchen so don't plan on preparation of meals. There's a very small fridge, small microwave and a hot plate.
I sent my team for a project in the Seattle - we use houses as much as possible to make them feel like they are at home rather than sitting in a hotel. The space was great - everything was clean and well appointed. The host is obviously very new and doesn't seem to really want to have people in her property. One of our team members is a smoker. We followed all of the guidelines and rules - he never smoked in the space and went out of his way to go far away from the property to smoke on the rare occasions he did so at the property. The host reached out to us about the smell of smoke - my GM (who was on site with our tech) reassured her that there was no smoking happening at the property but she insisted that she smelled smoke. My GM didn't smell any smoke at the space and went out of his way to make sure that didn't happen. Our tech didn't smoke again at the property but the owner continued to complain. She is trying to charge us $75 to "clean" the smell of smoke which we are refusing to pay. I understand she is new, and perhaps there are cultural differences, however her obsessiveness over the smell and her other oddities made it a supremely uncomfortable experience. We have a lot of experience renting properties - we have nothing but great reviews. We are absolutely not in the wrong on this issue and do not want to be villianized / charged for something that didn't happen.
