"Cameron and his wife have created a lovely, bespoke place to stay in Staithes. Our room was spotless and the bed was really comfy. Perfect cooked breakfast from Cameron. We would love to return. A decent hill to negotiate down to the quay and the rooms but worth the effort."

"Well. What strange accommodation. Booked 2 nights about 3 weeks prior to going. When we arrive nobody there. We rang and got told she didn’t realise we were staying then admitted she hadn’t checked any emails. We were told to go next door to get her elderly mum to come and unlock. Her lovely mum bless her had shall we say had memory problems. Anyway. We were sitting in her house being baby sat by an old lady as we weren’t aloud in house by ourselves. This was the first break we had this year....

"The uniqueness was that the rooms were separate to the bar, which were well appointed . The staff were very pleasant and willing to accommodate wherever it was possible. Excellent breakfast with a delightful location"

"This was a complete disaster. It took us 2 hours to find this place. No signage from the road and impossible to locate. When we finally did find it, they didn't have a booking for us and hadn't heard from your group...bitterly disappointing. We ended up staying at the Marriott at twice the price. Please ensure that we are not billed for this disaster."

"My partner and I stayed for an evening while visiting Durham. The room and staff exceeded our expectations. Both the bedroom and bathroom were tastefully designed and extremely spacious. We were lucky enough to have a view of the cathedral. Breakfast was of very high quality and served in a very pleasant environment. "Property needed a deep clean. I sneezed a lot and had black dust come out of my nose. Heating didn’t work sometimes and the room was quite cold. I booked through Expedia and check out said 11 am and I wasn’t told any check out time by the owner. On the morning of check out a cleaner knocked at the door and we shouted we were still inside. "Brilliant place to stay as a family, very clean and lovely place to stay, location by a private farm in the sticks you’re surrounded by grass, views, water and horses it’s beautiful. Great size accommodation and with modern kitchen and bathroom making staying here great. Located close to mainly areas, Beamish, Newcastle, Durham etc. Can’t recommend this place enough a lovely cozy warm stay."

"The Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area. The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay. The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!! Would happily stay here again when visiting the area as it’s a perfect little...
