An ideal stop on the NC500. Friendly welcome (and taken to the room, not just pointed in the right direction), comfortable and well appointed room, spotlessly clean. Good breakfast. We chose to eat elsewhere in the evening, so cannot comment on the dinner.

We made a last-minute unexpected booking here for one night, and we were so pleased. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The hotel is charming. There are lots of comfortable seating areas for an evening drink and to chat with other visitors. The room was comfortable and breakfast was very tasty.

Lovely hotel, amazing evening meals, very helpful staff as we got a slow puncture and the owner helped inflate the tyre so we could get to a garage. Great room and lovely stay, thank you.

One of life’s little treats

This is a marvellous gem of an hotel and I will certainly be back. Professionally friendly staff, tastefully decorated, imaginative menus and excellent food, beautifully presented. All in all, a must-have treat.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities and room was clean however, we stayed in room 06 but please be aware there is no TV in the room if this is important for you and the walls are not the best as noise from the adjacent rooms and guests passing in the corridor is quite audible.

Great hotel if you want to completely go off grid and have a social media detox. No TV in bedroom and in one of our rooms no wi-fi either, felt like I had gone back in time! Also in the room with no wifi there was limited shower time (5 mins) and only cold water from the shower head in the bath. Not the best nights stay for the money at all. But I can say without any hesitation that the food was exceptional both dinner and breakfast. So very much depends on what you want from a hotel stay. We were on the NC500 trip so only staying one night so after a long days driving it would have been nice to relax in the room watching the Tennis!
