"Wonderful place to stay with amazing hosts. Beautiful vintage home with large rooms and amazing woodwork. Barb is a lovely, knowledgeable and intetesting host. Be prepared - she makes the most wonderful breakfasts and makes sure you do not leave hungry. The grounds are immaculate and landscaped beautifully by Ken. Shopping is very close by and easy to get to with a wide variety of choices. Hope to return next year again. Highly recommend. "

202 - Buchanan Room - James Buchanan Hotel
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (4)
"The term "hotel" is a little misleading as it is more like an inn where there is no hotel staff onsite. An innkeeper greeted us to check us in and give us a tour of the property. The room was very clean and comfortable. We also visited the onsite restaurant, which was lovely. The food was excellent! Unfortunately, there were no real options for breakfast in town and no shopping or entertainment. If you stay here, be prepared for a quiet night in."

"We stayed at the James Buchanan Hotel during a trip to whitetail for skiing and the hotel was my favorite part of the experience. It was cozy, clean, and they even upgraded our room. It was so much fun to go to the pub in the hotel. The manager of the pub was so attentive and polite and everyone made sure we had a great stay. I can’t say enough nice good things about this place and I hope we will go back someday soon!"
