The lighthouse is an active private aid to navigation, managed by the Scituate Historical Society.
The grounds around the lighthouse are open all year. The tower is open only during occasional open houses.
There are enough parking space and benches to chill out.

"We found ourselves in dire straits when our previous accommodations cancelled last-minute. So fortunate for us that this wonderful place was available for precisely the dates we needed. It is a treasure. Everything is pristine, and there was so much room for all of us to stretch out and relax…plus just a quick 6 minute walk to the beach. Our group included a nearly 90 year old woman, my husband and me, our daughter and her husband, and their 7 year old, and every one of us found everything...
