I recommend Soll in Austria for a cheap week on the slopes. It's a bit more skiier friendly but there is a little snowboard park. The tobogganing is ridiculous fun! We stayed in a guesthause in town a few steps away from
Some great restaurants and bars. It was cheap enough to eat out for lunch and dinner everyday and never once queued for a lift.

Sehr guter Ausgangspunkt für Spaziergänge und Wanderungen in der Höhe direkt ab der Haustür. Meist hat man auch Handynetz, wobei die reale Welt dort oben viel schöner ist als die auf dem Bildschirm."

"Nestled in the foothills on my way from Munich to Salzburg, it was a perfect stopover and taste of German alpine hospitality, albeit in Spring. Welcoming staff showed me to my room, as well as hotel amenities - sauna options, depending what floats your boat. Breakfast was plentiful. Recommend! "
