A well-developed cycling and hiking trails network with Eifelsteig and Rur Olef route and a high-quality circular hiking trails offer active enjoyment of nature. The dams of the Eifel with their imposing dam walls can be reached by bicycle with almost no inclines.
From May to October, a historic rail bus, the Oleftalbahn, travels on the route between Kall and Hellenthal via Gemünd, Schleiden and through the half-timbered town of Olef with the village square crossing, which is unique in Germany.
Worth a visit is the former NS-Ordensburg Vogelsang, which was built by the National Socialists as a training location for executives. New attraction there are the two exhibitions "Nazi Documentation" and "National Park Eifel".
