"Overbooked and sent me to a terrible place. They still had higher priced rooms on Expedia, and instead of upgrading us, they sent us to a dirty motel. Expedia had to find another solution once I called."

"Wir haben kurzfristig diese Unterkunft gebucht, um ein Wochenende auf Rügen zu verbringen. Die Buchung wurde bestätigt und wir haben uns am nächsten Morgen auf den Weg gemacht. Mehrere Stunden vor unserer Ankunft habe ich unsere Ankunftszeit mitgeteilt und um Check-In Informationen gebeten, da ich bis dato keine Mitteilung eehalten hatte.. Auf mehrere schriftliche Nachrichten bekam ich keine Antwort. Auch mehrere Versuche, den/die Vermieter*in telefonisch zu erreichen, scheiterten. Letzendlich...

Great accommodation but check-in challenging

"The accommodation is a guest house, not a hotel, and I booked for a business trip and my first night was a Sunday. As per the instructions on the website I contacted the hotel prior to my visit as I would be arriving after the official check-in time. I didn’t receive any response and arrived on the Sunday evening to find the main building closed with nobody at home. I went ‘round the back and found the (closed) reception with instructions for me on a Post-it note sellotaped to the door. When I found my room, which was warm and welcoming, I received an SMS from the owner with instructions. Overall I was happy with the accommodation but I wouldn’t have had to worry so much (about not being able to check in) if I had received the access instructions earlier."
