1898 The Post & Porter's house

"The Post is absolutely breathtaking, inside and out! We stayed in the new Porter House wing in the Family Suite and it definitely exceeded our expectations. This particular room overlooks a beautiful part of the canal, has an incredible terrace with a large personal sauna and two immaculately decorated bedrooms with blackout drapes and earplugs (which you'll need because there are young people who play music and party literally all night on the canal). The Cobbler is a gorgeous bar and serves a full breakfast in the morning - definitely worth a try while staying, it's expensive but delicious!"

"A nice place to stay for a couple of days in Ghent. The hotel is in a beautiful building with a nice view of the gardens through the bedroom window. It's convenient for the main tourist sites of the city, about ten minutes walk to the heart of the historic centre of town.We were a little disappointed to discover that the room had no safe, which is pretty standard in most places, which meant that we had to carry out passports etc around with us at all time. The only other issue that we had was that they were less than generous with the toiletries in the bathroom, one small bottle of shower gel between two people really isn't enough, and where other hotels may have apologised and gave us another bottle, reception wanted two euros for an extra bottle, so we popped into town and picked up a far larger bottle for about the same price."

"We were upgraded to a family room but would have rather stayed in superior room due to lack of attention to furnishings. It was a large room and needed more rugs, furniture and wall hanging. So large it could be divided into 2 separate spaces."
