Treehouse - Luxury mountain living at the water’s edge of Hogback Lake

Kick back at this unique and tranquil getaway in the Blue Ridge Mountains, a rare gem on a serene lake in Sapphire Valley. It’s a lakefront home provides with optimum comfort, aesthetic pleasure and relaxation. Soak in the stunning lake & Mountain View’s from almost every room, and of course our 4 decks, hot tub, fire pit and boat dock all have incredible views as well , complete with luxurious bathrooms, dry sauna, home theater, well appointed kitchen, shuffleboard, multiple kayaks, a double canoe and 2 floating docks, fishing rods - we have all the bells and whistles!
Your family or group will have access to all (Sapphire Valley Community Center amenities, only a 10-15 minute drive away. Much of it free, with also discounts for golf and skiing/tubing. )
What could be better for a getaway than a Luxury Lakefront Treehouse, extra comfortable bedrooms, hot tub overlooking the lake. Wake up to mountain air, take in the sounds of our birds and wildlife, the beauty among the trees and glistening lake below. The house is perched on a lakeside bank, blanketed by fern and rhododendrons, among pine, hickory, maple, and mountain laurel, We have 2 kayaks, one double canoe and one 15 ft lily pad as our flotilla. An hour of steady paddling gets you to the far corners and back, passing small hidden waterfalls and streams that feed it after a good rain.
For recreation we have a 15' Lilly pad, darts, corn hole, puzzles, chess and board games, and a hand crafted 12' shuffleboard, built by my sons, as will some gaming in the Home Theater. Our hot tub is beautifully crafted, a rare stainless and tile on the deck looking over the lake and mountains, and our dry sauna is just steps away, indoors.
The house is beautifully designed with craftsman mission and branch/ twig furnishings. Think luxury tree house! Even our dining table is crafted from tree trunk base,
The King bedroom top floor ("Canopy"), main level bedrooms with 2 xl twins are ("Trunk") and another same at ("Branch"), extra multi-purpose room facing lake, ("Nest") Kitchen and living room are also on main, "Trunk/Branch" level. Lower level , ("Root") has King bedroom/livingroom, spacious spa bathroom and sauna, Home Theater and rope benches swing on the deck. If looking for our dart board, it's below our “Root" level near deck to the dock. Enjoy sitting around our large fire pit by the lake, just steps from our 2 docks. The bathrooms and spa bath complete with sauna, double shower and outdoor hot tub looking out on the lake, are designed with indulgence in mind. Try out our home theater for your evening entertainment. We have beautiful outdoor lighting and sturdy walkway to our dock. This home was purchased in 2020 and so many of our guests are returning. We have parking for 3 or 4 vehicles including a spacious 2 car garage. All our guests will have access to Sapphire Community center which has an indoor and 2 outdoor pools along with other activities. Hiking trails are close by with a dozen incredibly beautiful waterfalls. Rainbow Falls in Gorges Park is a nearby favorite, as is the Panthertown Trail, only 15 minutes away.

A note about our additional fees for over 4 people:
We started this rental about the same time of the pandemic when folks wanted to travel in smaller groups. Quite often I got requests from a group of 2,3 and 4 to book and I discovered it best for all, that the price be lowered for smaller groups by lowering the “base” price. VRBO actually recommended this so that pricing reflected the number of guests. A few reasons also are that more guests mean more wear on the home as well as more cleaning afterwards. Our cleaners are paid a “living wage” and always more for larger groups. I believe this pricing and extra fee structure creates transparency and serves the most people all around.
I would be happy to welcome a group of 9 maximum with the understanding that we’ld provide a blowup mattress which could fit in the theater room. As owner/manager, I make it my priority to provide an outstanding and hope to welcome you to our
Treehouse at water’s edge!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Treehouse. The house is large enough to give everyone their own space but with several gathering spaces as well. Our host was very polite and accommodating to our needs. Thanks for a lovely week.

We had a wonderful time at the Treehouse enjoying the mountain and lake view. We had a smaller group for the property but it would have been plenty of room for a large group with the three floors. The kitchen, and house in general, were very well stocked making it easy to cook at the house. The beds were very comfortable! The host was responsive and pleasant to work with. We really enjoyed the hot tub and lake access. I would definitely suggest this property and hope to stay again!

A beautiful home in a great location. The house provided a beautiful spot to relax and was close to so many great hiking trails and other activities. We enjoyed paddling on the lake and sitting on the porch swings watching the rain!

We loved the decks and the lake view. A lot of fun with the fire pit and kayaks. House was very comfortable & provided separate places for our group of 5 adults. Brevard and Cashiers along with several golf courses & other outdoor activities being very close. Even though weather was bad for a few days, it was easy to find something to do at the house.

We took my daughter and son for one last trip just the four of us before my daughter marries in April. We had more than enough room, enjoyed the hot tub and media room! The kitchen is better stocked than any rental I’ve ever stayed in. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We had a wonderful week at the TreeHouse with friends. The home is exactly as advertised - great location, clean, and very well stocked for a relaxing trip. Maria was easy and responsive with communication. The beds were comfortable and plenty of linens. We hope to return for another respite soon!

We loved everything about the stay. The house was beautiful, the hosts were super responsive and helpful. Maria was so gracious and the house had everything. The kids so enjoyed the theater room, and we all enjoyed the lake and boats that were there for our use. We would definitely recommend staying and enjoying not only the house but also the beautiful area. One of our favorite days was taking Maria's suggestion to hike and swim at Rainbow Falls. Absolutely beautiful.

We wanted a large house to relax with our college kids and reconnect as a family….this place was perfect. I’m not sure where to start my compliments…the beautiful home, the lake, the canoes and kayaks, the fire pit, the hot tub, the short drive to waterfall hikes, nearby amazing restaurants, fishing (and catching) right off the dock, the views, the farmers markets, the movie room, the friendly host, the chef’s kitchen, the privacy, the views, the amazing BBQ grill….it was perfect!!!

Treehouse exceeded our expectations. It was very well appointed and supplied with all the little things you might need during your stay. Bedding and pillows were super comfy and the view from the hot tub was divine. Tons of comfy outdoor seating scattered around the property. Genuinely can’t say enough good things. We had a great stay and I highly recommend it. And just for context - I’m known as pretty hard to please when it comes to vacation rentals!

Our family met at the Treehouse for Thanksgiving. The house was as wonderful as described. The view from the deck, the movie room, hot tub, cozy fireplaces and living areas were greatly enjoyed. Our family especially liked the large dining table that we could all sit around. The owner was gracious and always available to answer questions. Thank you, Maria, for our memorable family gathering.

We had a fantastic week staying at the Treehouse. Between enjoying the lake, kayaking, relaxing in the hot tub, early morning coffee in the porch and too many other plusses to list we definitely plan on returning. The location is excellent as a base for hiking the countless nearby trails and/or enjoying the Highlands/Cashiers areas. Maria was a pleasure to deal with and she communicated frequently and clearly with us about what to expect during our stay. We look forward to planning a return trip soon.

The property was more than we could have asked for. The views were amazing and it had plenty of things to do. We even had snow and the owner worked with us on the check out time due to snow. The spa bathroom was nice for relaxing. The house was spacious and worked well for our party. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean. We really enjoyed our time at the “tree house”. We will plan to visit again sometime.

We had a wonderful Christmas at the Treehouse despite winter storm Elliott causing an 8 hour power outage and -4 degree temperatures. Maria was wonderful about checking on us especially during the power outage. We loved the fireplaces, sauna, hot tub and movie room. We hope to return again during warmer weather to enjoy the lake.

The treehouse had everything you would want or need in a vacation rental. My husband and I with our young adult children enjoyed the shuffle board, darts, kayaks, fishing off the dock and the hot tub. The multiple decks all had inviting seating areas. The only negative would be the traffic noise from 64. After awhile though you start to ignore it and focus on the frogs. Great relaxing home!

The Treehouse was exactly as pictured. It was very clean and well stocked. Maria was wonderful and responsive (though we didn't have any issues). We would do excursions during the day (ziplining, white water rafting, hiking to waterfalls) and would come back to the house in the evening and cook dinners and sit on the deck overlooking the lake. We would also take the kayaks around the lake in the evenings. We used the grill several times and it appeared to be new. The hot tub was well maintained. Overall, the house was amazing and there were lots of wonderful memories made. I would highly recommend the Treehouse for your next vacation!
