The hosts were amazing and really give you free rein to enjoy the beautiful grounds—the location is unbelievable, yet it’s only about a 15-minute walk into the center of Bayeux. Hotel Le Lion d'Or et restaurant la Table du Lion

"Room, a jr. suite, was as expected, nice modern bathroom with separate toilet, good bed, nice couch to sit on, no a/c but we knew that, provided a nice Dyson fan, they had installed an elevator which made the 3rd floor access much easier, the staff was great, quiet area at the edge of the main old town main road. Never ate the breakfast buffet, but it looked good with nice selections. Bayeux is a nice small town with friendly people."

"An absolutely beautiful hotel! Spacious, comfortable, relaxed, and totally unique. We loved our stay here. The room was beautifully decorated and simply stunning to stay in. The hotel property is equally stunning, and the restaurant was a true highlight. Breakfast was also wonderfully relaxing and delicious. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We would happily return to Ferme de la Rançonnière if we have the chance."

"A beautifully maintained hotel with secure parking (great for motorbikes). The hotel is right in the middle of Bayeux and easy to find. There's no dinner restaurant at the hotel but there are many restaurants only a few minutes away. Inside was spotlessly clean and well set out. My room was gorgeous. Lots of home comforts and very large. The staff were great and breakfast was delicious. Can't find a fault."

"I had seen reviews that the rooms were small. Ours was a nice size and very comfortable. The staff was great, especially the young man at check-in. He was welcoming and helpful with getting around town and finding places to eat. The hotel is close to the cathedral which is a must to see! They do use an old fashioned room key so be sure and lock your room door once inside with the key. Breakfast was really good. It is a quant hotel that we enjoyed and very close, within easy walking to most things. The railroad station is about 12 minutes and a little uphill toward the end, or longer with heavy suitcases. We would stay again."

"Gently fading grandeur. We had a lovely time and the pool/spa are very nice. Staff were friendly. Bar prices seem to reflect what this hotel used to be like, rather than its current state of maintenance as a few things weren't working eg room phones, spa shower. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked lovely."

"An okay no frills hotel. Airconditioning didn't work in 1 of 2 rooms and the single window didn't allow for airflow. Hinges on the bathroom door need grease so the door doesn't wake the entire room when opened. No locks on bathroom door which is a minor inconvenience. Had to slam exterior door shut to get it to latch which probably frustrated our neighbors. I had low expectations for breakfast from previous reviews but was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't amazing but was perfectly acceptable for fueling up before a trip to D Day sights."

"The apartment was fine, a lot of room and 2 toilets. That was nice. A plus to have a balkony. Nice view. Good bed. The sofa was very bad. Really nice with a pool. Nice with possibility to buy fresh bread every morning. Also fine with different food truck."
