"Due to our flight being delayed we arrived at the hotel later than planned. This was however not a problem as the owner had sent us a message previously telling us how to use the key safe to collect our keys. Our first floor room was very comfortable and the view from the balcony was wonderful. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was a shame but the mini fridge was very handy. The whole hotel was spotless and our room was made up each day. Breakfast was continental and there was plenty of it, you just helped yourself to what you wanted. Antonio, the owner, would serve fresh tea/coffee at your table and happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the area or getting about. The hotel is situated in a very convenient location. Just a 5 minute walk and you reach the various cafes and restaurants and another 5 minutes you can get to the shops or the lovely beach. We used the bus service but if needed there is a taxi rank just outside the hotel. All in all we enjoyed a lovely week in beautiful Madeira."

"Having only stayed here for a brief period, arriving after midnight and departing in the morning, I must say the entire experience was truly delightful. The hotel, though rated as a three-star establishment, boasted a reception staff that provided a five-star level of service. The property itself was well-maintained, and the room was exceptionally spacious with lovely views. Furthermore, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the breakfast was quite tasty."

"The house was spotless and a good location to get on highway. It was near the airport and could hear planes landing and taking off but did not hear planes after 11 p m. The owner lives in lower level and was very nice but did not speak much English and I do not speak Portuguese so checking in was a little complicated. I liked the location it was not as busy as Funchal and overlooked the mountains. The island is spectacular and would definitely recommend a stay on this island. "

"The house is incredible - a house/hotel with gorgeous ocean views and access. As it is so near the park on the peninsula, we had expected to be able to walk there and learned it is a drive. While I understand the need, I was surprised by the level of security. We are simply not used to that where we live so that was alarming at first. Finally, the primary bathroom shower had hot water but many of the other baths did not have hot water - ever. Finally, we may have not been able to open a flu, but we used the outdoor grill and the smoke did not go up a chimney. Possibly it was due to weather conditions that evening. We met a furry grey cat who kept us company.( outside) He had a terrible sore on the side of his neck possibly from a broken abcess. Possibly he is a neighbors cat and they can be told? These are all not terribly important details - it is an incredible house with - perfect for a family gathering. "

"Great for one night near the airport "

"The property was fine but the location had issues. It was 1 block away from a church with loud bells that rang on the hour (except for nighttime) plus other times that seemed like it might have been a bell-ringer in training??? One evening we were unable to return to the property due to a church event where police had blocked off entry to the entire area. Due to a huge turnout, there was no parking available within walking distance of the property so we spent the evening in nearby Santa Cruz. Had we been warned, we would not have left the property that day. I thought cleanliness was OK but my 2 female friends freaked out over the huge cockroaches so I promised I'd mention it. I suggest you make sure you have the correct number of guests when making a reservation. Our guest count increased from 2 to 3 when a Portuguese-speaking friend agreed to join us. I was advised in advance that this would cause the price to increase by 20 euros/day which was requested in cash or bank transfer outside of VRBO. This didn't sound right so I checked with VRBO who said they don't allow payment directly to the owner. The owner then submitted the charge to VRBO and I paid VRBO using my credit card (instead of cash to the owner). This was the only reservation that increased the price due to the additional person (we stayed in 3 different properties during our Portugal trip). The other 2 property owners graciously said there was no change in price for the additional person."
