"This was one of the best homes we have stayed in. It lived up to every expectation. Very well provisioned…. down to coffee and espresso ready to enjoy. All the manuals for the appliances, and great suggestions for nearby restaurants and grocery shopping. Loved our morning views as we enjoyed brunch on the patio….. beds were comfy and two showers were a plus in getting ready for our family event."

"Jose was wonderful in allowing us an early check-in due to our travel schedule. We had a small difficulty with the lockbox but José resolved the issue quickly, and it was our first exposure to the neighbors, who went above and beyond to be helpful and friendly. I cant say enough about the neighbors on both sides of the house. The location is stunning, our only regret is that it rained quite a bit so we couldn’t be outside on the deck as much as we’d have liked. All in all a wonderful stay, thank you!"

"The two bedroom unit where we stayed was lovely with vaulted ceilings in the living areas, a wood stove, comfortable furnishings and a well-equipped kitchen. The views from the windows front and back were gorgeous - ocean on one side and mountains at the back. Marion, the owner, was an absolutely great host - kind, sensitive, super friendly and helpful! She gave us lots of good suggestions for things to do and see. Despite not having the best week of weather, we totally enjoyed our stay! Many thanks to Marion "

"This apartment was exactly as pictured and represented. It's located in a quiet area - Ponto Formoso - a short 20-25 minute drive from the airport and 5-10 minutes from the bigger town of Ribiera Grande. The view from the apartment is the best. We loved eating every meal on the balcony and ending our days laying out on the beach and going for a swim. There are two life guard towers and snack bar style restaurant on the beach. If you want to surf, head up to the bigger Santa Barbara beach where the waves are perfect for surfing. The furnishings in the apartment are simple, but what more do you need in a beach rental? The parking lot up the hill from the apartment has plenty of spots. Both the owner and property manager are responsive to questions. Two pieces of advice for those staying here: (1) Stop at Pingo-Doce grocery store on your way from the airport to the apartment. It's located on the way, in Ribiera Grande. We didn't know about it until later in the trip and the store closer to Porto Formoso (Spar) is very small/not well-stocked. Pingo-Doce is excellent. (2) You must eat at the restaurant up the street from the apartment - Mare Cheia. Best food and preparation we ate on the island. We went twice. I wish I could replicate how they perfectly grill the fresh fish catches of the day. If we get the chance to go back to Sao Miguel, we would stay here again and for longer!"

"The apartment was perfect for us. So much was provided; the welcome pack was out of this world. From fig jam to wine to eggs to cheese to chorizo spread and much more. All local produce which was delicious. The apartment itself felt roomy as did the balcony. There were games, body boards, information, fab fridge freezer and a lovely stocked bathroom and equipped kitchen. Miguel was on hand for advice and tips for discovering the island. I wouldn’t hesitate to re- book. The best part was the view and hearing the sea crashing from inside. Just perfect! "
