"The house is in a fantastic location. We made day trips in all directions. We really loved this spot, however. We loved hiking the local trails, watching people working in their fields, walking down to the beach. Two of us went in swimming. The only problem we had was the third bed in the middle room turnedout to be a trundle bed and would br suitable for a child, not a senior citizen One of us slept on the long sofa with bedding Jose provided. That was fine.We ate and relaxed on the patio, wondering at the cows high above us in the steep meadows. We are all ready to come back soon."

"You cannot beat the location of this apartment overlooking the Porto Formoso harbor! Everything was clean and well appointed. We enjoyed making breakfast every morning in the kitchen and eating on the patio. At night, the restaurant up the street is one of the best places we ate at on the island. On the other way down the street is a small market and cafe. "

"The beach location of this home is excellent, as the beach is clean, has a stream for young ones to play in, given that the waves can be big and difficult if you are not a strong swimmer. There is a beautiful waterfall to visit near the public parking lot, too. It was a 15 - 25 minute drive to most locations to explore the island or to have dinner each night. We would likely stay in Ribeira Grande next time we visit São Miguel, as this was more centrally located to our trip.The home was clean, but we struggled with the bug situation as there are no screens to prevent them from entering the home when windows and doors are open. We saw flies & ants, plus a cockroach run under the laundry machine on our last day, and spent time waiting to kill it so it wouldn't get into our belongings. We ended up keeping the small trash can on the porch and throwing the bag in the dumpster near the beach daily to reduce the ants. Our other issue was the amount of hot water. There is only enough for 1 shower, 2 only if you are VERY fast. This was a huge challenge for a family of 4 coming home from the beach. We all had many cold showers. Another challenge was that there were no fans to help with airflow other than small desk top fans that only help if you sit in front of them. Lastly, the furniture on the patio was not like in the picture. There were two broken plastic chairs and one lounge chair that did not have a cushion. No tables to put drinks on or have a snack. Improvements could be made"

"Amazing stay on Sao Miguel. Beautiful guest house in the garden, with private parking. The house is fully equiped amd very spacious. Good location to discover the island eith nice restaurants mearby"

"The two bedroom unit where we stayed was lovely with vaulted ceilings in the living areas, a wood stove, comfortable furnishings and a well-equipped kitchen. The views from the windows front and back were gorgeous - ocean on one side and mountains at the back. Marion, the owner, was an absolutely great host - kind, sensitive, super friendly and helpful! She gave us lots of good suggestions for things to do and see. Despite not having the best week of weather, we totally enjoyed our stay! Many thanks to Marion "
